  1. I'd go with Pete on this one, It looks suss and if it weighed more than 10kg, I would be surprised.
  2. "I like the Idea of the Coil Splitting option Mode for 1/2 a DD" G'day Ken~Digs, all the Minelab Pi's since the Extreme can do that! It's even a simple mod on the SD's.
  3. Ismael in Australia, will tell you, If you want something to be as good as a 4500, buy a 4500. It's not possible to make a 3000 as good as a 4500, by modding. And anyone who reckons to do the mod for $100, would'nt be getting anywhere near my detector.
  4. Bob, appears that they should be turning over a few more. Should take about 20 minutes to swap switches on a 4000, so 4 weeks wait is crazy. I reckon Minelab should have someone on a plane right now, going over there to kick some butt.
  5. I think that the problem is local Flak, I know 2 guys who just had their 4500's serviced at Minelab in oz, turnaround about a week and they both can't believe how good they came back. They both claim that their 4500's are better then when new.
  6. G'day AzNuggetBob, I like reading Robby_H 's posts too. Very bright guy and his posts always contain an abundance of logic. This is the area where Doug's posts always fall down! BTW, Robby_H don't fall for Dougly's little ploy! We all know that you could go over there and explain why this thing is never going to fly, BUT there would be many fairy tales to wade through, could go on for a long time and Dougly WOULD gain members and that is the reason why he's trying to get you to post on Poz. Heck, you have already kicked their collective butt so many times, it must get boring for you.
  7. "goldrushes in Arica. They do not acord with what some of my own forum" Doug, you wrote the above, I have to ask you, are you one of those poor, largely uneducated, mostly illiterate artisanal peasants???
  8. "Allan Westerstens??? Isn't he the one who still hasn't learnt that more current into the coil is not the way to go In mineralised ground?" OK tell us all why? I could easily explain it to you Doug BUT I'm asking the questions here! YOU tell us IF you agree with that way of doing things and WHY.
  9. You make me laugh, every time ANY of you guy's debate Robby_H you get your butt kicked! You have to retreat back to poz and lick your wounds. Allan Westerstens??? Isn't he the one who still hasn't learnt that more current into the coil is not the way to go In mineralised ground? Heck, no wonder Robby couldn't be bothered lobbing over poz, likely waiting til Al gets more understanding of how Pi's should work. BTW, I do know the answer why it upsets the math! But I ain't gonna tell you You will be pleased to know that I am being educated on the workings of the Minelab detectors by a brilliant teacher.
  10. Well Doug, Poole was pretty smart but he had nothing to do with gold detecting. Eric's method of GB was third class and appeared to GB'ed out not only the ground but also target's at depth, when used in our mineralised ground. Given that nobody on poxinoz is as smart as Eric, the rest of you have no chance. That is why you would have to copy Minelab's method to even have a chance of getting the QED to work as well as one of the older GP's. Forget about trying to out do the GPX'S, no chance. You like to ask inane questions and demand answers but in truth none of you guy's even understand how ANY of the Minelab Pi's work. Not even the old 2000. I will give you an example: Gary Q asks "Does adjusting the Gain mod to GB1 and GB2 channels on my 2000 change its original "Math" used for Ground Balancing?" Some supposed "guru" answers "No". Wrong answer Doug! Maybe he should have asked Zed, or better still PM'ed Robby_H, he would have explained WHY it does upset the original math. I have also seen post's by you wannebes bucketing enhance. Well how about you explain how Enhance works? I will bet you don't even have a clue. I would bet money that Robby_H knows!
  11. Yeah, was gonna be $600, now $800, 33% increase already and the thing still hasn't found a nugget. Unless they copy the minelab GB system, the thing will always be a dud.
  12. You both are aware that I have never made any reference to the to the Ismael modded 3500 that alluvium tested, this test was not made available outside of pozinoz and I have never read it and so know nothing about it. As you well know, very time I have posted is to get you to repair the 3000 you modded, that was tested by narrawa and on which you installed the "experimental" overclock mod that ruined his detector.
  13. "As for "Inhere" this guy has had a vendetta against me for a few years, read his posts and somehow he will twist the truth or vary the thread direction to incorporate some defamation about "Woody". Anyone would think he is a large shareholder in Minelab/Codan. There is not one ounce or gram of truth in any of his defamatory postings. People see through his thin Glass vindictive veneer and it generates lots of work for me. Thankyou "Inhere", I could not wish for better advertising if I had to pay for it. Load of BS woody, below is a couple of quotes, the first one is from woody's mate,Dwt, who try's to make a dollar by flogging woody molested detector's to newbies. The second quote was from the only experienced guy who has tested a woody modded detector, that has no vested interest in the detector. Quote 1: "The clock speed mod hasn't been done by Woody for a long time, he regards it as an experiment, nothing more. Cheers, Dwt" (a lie?) Quote 2: "It was certainly done on the unit i tested & was the downfall of the unit! It may look good in the lab but out in the field it proved to be useless, so given it was an " experiment " how is he going to compensate the owner of the unit, given its now not even close to the ability of an unmodded 3000 in my eyes." Well the truth is woody has made no effort to compensate the owner or even repair the stuffed detector, so much for any guarantee. If I have a vendetta against you woody, It's real easy to stop it, just compensate the owner of that 3000 and have alluvium (aussie john) and his mates test your modded GP, He's a member of the same forum as you, so he may go easy on you. But I'll be happy to abide by his test, What about you? Or are you worried that the emperor will then have no clothes?
