  4. Hey Bob, I enjoyed watching that show. Here is the Trailer for it -
  5. I ran the threshold on all my PI's where you just have a little buzz, kind of like that misquote in the ear sound. I had my Stabilizer at 10, I think that was the middle. Gain was 12-14 Rob
  6. We have them in stock now, just have to get them on the website. Rob
  7. Hey Fishing, What timing setting are you using? For small gold, I found that "Sensitive/Extra" did best for me. You should be able to find nuggets down to at least 3-5 grains on bedrock with that combo. Also keep in mind, the Minelab PI's (even the GPX series) prior to the 6000 don't do super well on crystalline nuggets, but if you had a solid or flat piece the same weight it would scream. Rob
  8. Thanks for the comments guys. Brown Nugget your story reminds me of our recent trip to San Diego. We left here, Central Arizona and it was 118 degrees that day at our house. We drove through Yuma, temps were about the same. We crossed into Cali, temps still about the same until we hit the farming areas of El Centro and it dropped a few degrees. Then eventually before we climbed over that Mountain range around Alpine, the temps were down in the 80-90's, then mid 70's around San Diego. It was about a 5 hour drive and almost 40 degree temp drop. Too bad there wasn't much gold right in San Diego Rob
  9. Hey Guys, Well I'm not sure if it's just un-motivation, heat, humidity or what, but it's been a slow summer prospecting for me to say the least. Prior to the summer, up to about May-June a partner and myself were still out hitting the goldfields religiously. I put down the GPZ 7000 for a bit and wanted to give the Minelab GPX 6000 some time, so that is just want I did prior to Summer rolling in. In just a month or so on the weekends I rounded up a nice little batch of nuggets, roughly 1.66 ounces, mostly smaller gold. I was getting really adjusted to the lightweight unit and its ability to find small gold really well. Well, now its summer, heat up to 110-115 plus high humidity, my interested drastically dropped. I have been out a few early mornings before the Sun popped up hitting some new spots in hots for a new location or patch. I found 3 lonely nuggets in 3 new locations, really thought one of them would pan out into a good spot. I couldn't tell you how many lonely nuggets I have found over the years in new washes, benches or hillsides where I spent the rest of the day thinking I was onto something. Many of the spots over the years I have returned thinking I must have missed something or just overlooked the obvious ... NOPE just not there (or within detector capability to find). I'm excited for the cool weather to roll upon us soon. There's a lot of new stuff to play with, including the new Garrett Axiom metal detector, Coiltek GoldHawk coils for the GPX 6000, Nugget Finder coils for GPX 6000 (coming soon), along with the Nugget Finder 17" Elliptical for the GPZ 7000. We carry all of these items for anyone that might be looking at some point, look us up if you don't have a source already. Here are a few pictures of some of the gold I rounded up, nothing to write home about, but it still gets the "Gold Bug" biting. Keep the coils swinging, Rob
  10. Hey Guys, I have them on pre-order with Doc, they are hung up in Customs in LA right now, but Yes I will have both colors, blue and green. Rob
  11. Hey Guys, Doc has always created amazing products for us prospectors. I will have a large batch of the Green and Blue scoops very soon. I will place them on my online store, Ebay and other market places for purchase. Rob
  12. Hey Bob, I have been out swinging for the Monsoon Gold a little bit, been picking up some bits here and there, nothing to write home about. The Monsoon's in some areas can blow out washes and exposing new bedrock sections that could contain gold nuggets. A tip for anyone new, if you found nuggets in a wash, always re-visit after large Monsoon storms or Winter storms, you might be quite surprised! Yes, the GPZ 7000 is a beast when it comes to weight, but it's also the KING for depth if your ground warrants it. I wouldn't recommend a GPZ 7000 for someone that is hunting nothing but shallow or bedrock conditions, but anywhere the ground is 1-3 foot in depth and nuggets have been found, it's worth it. The lightest coil that does not require any modifications to the cable and such would be the Nugget Finder 12" Z Searchoil. This is my go to coil on my GPZ, still get good depth, but lighter and a bit more sensitive than the stock 14x13 Super DD. The Garrett Axiom will have it's place for sure. It's great to see Garrett jump in with a great new detector. It's not going to take on a GPZ 7000 @ $8499, nor be a GPX 6000 slayer at @ $6000, but at $3995 it will have it's place and do well. It's has a lot of great features, Iron Scan, Lightweight 4.7 lbs, Wireless Headphones, extreme battery life 16 hours & several audio types. Going to be interesting this Winter season with new coils for the GPZ 7000, new coils for the GPX 6000 and the new Garrett Axiom metal detector. Rob
  13. Hey Steve, Doc's Essential Shaft Kit was designed for the user to have the ability to at least adjust the length. I don't think Doc or anyone has claimed it's lighter, just the fact the upper is Carbon Fiber and the Lowers are Fiberglass. The lowers are the same shafts that Doc's designs for the SD/GP or GPX series. The only other option is the Detect Ed shafts, which are designed for the Minelab Equinox series, but do fit on the GM 1000. I'm trying to get more in, but they are very hard to get right now. They are a bit pricey at $129 - 169 range depending on the color and style. Minelab states their lower shaft is "Collapsible," but it IS NOT. It's really a 3 piece shaft that you have to unscrew, so Doc's Essential Rod Kit that we sell is the next best option. Hope this helps a bit, Rob
  14. Hey Guys, For the GPZ 7000, the only coils that are available are the Minelab ones (14x13 Super DD, stock coil) & (19" Super DD). Nugget Finder makes the awesome 12" Round Z Searchcoil, which I absolutely love, but are in the process of releasing a 17" Elliptical real soon. I'm very excited for this coil, as I wanted something a bit bigger, but the 19" is just too much. X-Coils from Russia are also making a bunch of aftermarket coils for the GPZ, but you have to make a "patch cord," which requires the cable from an existing GPZ searchcoil. There are tons of coils available for the SD/GP & GPX series from Minelab, Coiltek, Nugget Finder, Detech & X-coils. As for the new GPX 6000, you have the three Minelab coils available, 11" Round Mono, 14" Round DD or the 17" Elliptical Mono. Coiltek just released 3 coils, 10x5 Elliptical, 9" Round & 14x9 Elliptical. Nugget Finder will have a few coils also available hopefully by mid September 2022. Hope this helps a bit, Rob
  15. Hey Guys, Sorry I have been a bit slow on this, but I just updated my online store to show the new Garrett Axiom now available for pre-order/pre-pay for anyone wanting some of the first units available. There is a huge demand for this unit, so I recommend anyone seriously interested to order online below or contact us ASAP. We are also offer the 15% Military discount on this unit, but I does require a DD214 or Military ID from the person making the purchase. https://www.robsdetectors.com/garrett-axiom-metal-detector-with-13-dd-11-mono-searchcoils-ms-3-headphones/ I should also have the accessory coils and other stuff that will be available online very soon. Rob
  16. Hey Bob, Ya, she was a deep one. That is one reason I find it hard to part with the GPZ 7000. If the area has minimal trash and is a known gold nugget area, the GPZ 7000 is my choice. It's ability to shoot down deep, but still maintain good sensitivity to small gold is amazing. I love the GPX 6000 also, lightweight and super easy to use, but it's NO GPZ 7000 in my opinion if you can deal with the weight. Rob
  17. Hey Chuck, Ya, exciting to hear about the Garrett Axiom. I think it's going to sell well in the mid-line PI area for $4k. I don't personally believe it will perform like a GPX 6000 or higher, but a very good PI gold hunter that has a lot of nice features. Here are some details on the Military Discount that Garrett and the Dealers are offering. There was some confusion on another forum where someone stated Garrett was only offering 10%, but it's actually 15% Military discount - You also mentioned if I will be offering training on this unit. I will, but it will be a bit later, as the unit is so new, I haven't had any real time on the unit. Anyone purchasing the unit right away will have to schedule training with us, so myself and my trainers have some time on it also. Hope this helps a bit, Rob
  18. Hello All, Here are all 3 of the new Coiltek GOLDHAWK Searchcoils now available for the Minelab GPX 6000 metal detector. There are some great sizes, the 10x5 Mono for tight areas, best pinpointing and working shallow or bedrock ground. The 14x9 Mono has always been my favorite all-time searchcoil size, still maintains good sensitivity to small gold while giving you good depth while prospecting and exploring new areas. The 9" Mono is a great mid-sized Round searchcoil that will give you more depth than the 10x5 Mono Elliptical, but just shy of the 14x9. Here are the direct links to all three coils - Coiltek GOLDHAWK 10x5 Mono - https://www.robsdetectors.com/coiltek-goldhawk-10x5-mono-searchcoil-for-the-minelab-gpx-6000/ Coiltek GOLDHAWK 9" Mono - https://www.robsdetectors.com/coiltek-goldhawk-9-round-searchcoils-for-minelab-gpx-6000/ Coiltek GOLDHAWK 14x9" Mono - https://www.robsdetectors.com/coiltek-goldhawk-14x9-mono-searchcoil-for-the-minelab-gpx-6000/ All of these coils are 100% Minelab Endorsed, Waterproof to 3 foot, 2 Year Factory Warranty and include Skidplates. We offer FREE Shipping/Insurance on all the Searchcoils and shipped with the US. Rob's Detector Sales has been selling and supporting Coiltek products for over 20 years now. Rob
  19. All searchcoils are available in limited supplies, but we do have a full stock of them, so get your orders in. Rob
  20. Hey Guys, It's great to see that Garrett is still in the PI game. I think this new Garrett Axiom will have it's place for sure when it comes to gold nugget detecting. I was hoping it would be in the $2500-3000 range which would fill that gap where the Minelab GPX 4500 was at $2499 before Minelab discontinued it. I'm not a field tester for Garrett, just have my hands in too many pies to try to do another task. I will leave the field testing up to the guys that have all the time to really prove them out. We will have a batch of them soon, looks like the MAP price will be around $3995.00. We will also be offering the Garrett 10% Military discount on this unit for active or retired US Military. Hope to see some nuggets on the new Garrett PI coils soon enough. Rob
  21. Hey Gravelwasher, Ya, it was a nice find for sure. I knew due to the depth, it had to be a nugget. Rob
  22. Hey Guys, Great story and some great gold with the new GPX 6000. Sorry I have been so absent from the forums. I need to get them jump started once again. Gravel Washer, thanks for your continued business with us, we surely appreciate it. Looks like you are really liking the GPX 6000. I still have both, toggle back in forth from them. Rob
  23. Hey Dell, How much gold is actually just on top of the surface out there? I guess it's possible, but not sure it's as easy as it sounds. Rob
  24. Hey Col, Honestly I have found some pyrite ore that has given the PI some fits, but nothing like a VLF would. A VLF will scream on most, a PI might just be more of a moan type signal, just depends on how much metal is really left. Rob
