  1. Hey Lucky, Next time you're up here i'd to take the booster out for a test drive. I tore my Koss headphone wire out of the plug this past trip, so I'm looking into other options. Jesse
  2. Thanks Rob and Lucky! I'm headed out the door to swing the 2300 for a few more hours today. Jesse
  3. Got out for a few hours yesterday to try my new SDC2300. I have to say I'm impressed with its ability to find gold in the worst ground. The nuggets range in weight from 0.09g to 0.8g. I'm looking forward to many more hunts with this new machine. Jesse
  4. Hi guys, First off I'd like to thank everyone for their input. Right now I have two coils in mind, the Joey and the 12" elliptical Nuggetfinder ( Just need to convince my wife to let me buy one). I'm still waiting on my 12 X 15 Commander coil from Minelab. I guess it's on backorder. I think if i have three different sizes of coils I'll have the right tools for the areas I want to hunt. Thanks! ~Jesse
  5. Hi Guys, I was hoping to get some opinions on choosing the best coil for hunting in thick brush and bedrock. I currently have the 12 x 18 Coiltek. It's just way too much coil to be swinging in thick brush and bedrock of California. I haven't had much luck finding gold yet and I thought I'd try a different approach to hunting with a smaller coil. Thanks, ~Jesse
  6. Hi Grubstake, Thanks for the welcome. Any information and advice I can gather from the forum is as good as gold to me. I love seeing all the pictures and reports from the seasoned prospectors. I look forward to being a member of this great forum, thanks again. ~Jesse Hi Rob, Saturday afternoon I was really bummed about the bad weather. We got about 20" of snow where we live, just north of Reno. This morning I was looking at the AZO forum and read about a guy who just returned from the Rye Patch area. He said it didn't get much snow. So hopefully the weather will hold out in that area until I get there. We'll post back when I return. Thanks again for the excellent package deal. ~Jesse
  7. Hi Rob, I just want to let you know that I received the GPX4500 and package. I am going to go up to Majuba this weekend. I can't wait to get out there and try it out !!! Thanks again!! ~Jesse
  8. Hi Grubstake, I'm sorry for what you have to go through. I know how you feel about not being able to get out and have some fun. But I've never put myself in the frame of mind that I'd only have a limited number of outtings left. I don't know what I'd do if I had to think like that. I'm truly sorry for the situation you've found yourself in. Stay strong and hang in there bro. I'm a younger guy (25) on the board and I look up to you guys who have many years of experience. I enjoy reading your posts and hearing about "the good old days". I hope and pray you get well and continue doing the things you love. Take care and God bless. ~Jesse

  10. Hi Bill, Check out this club. http://www.cgpgold.org/ ~Jesse
  11. Hi everybody. My name is Jesse and I'm from Reno, NV. I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all. I really enjoyed dredging until it was banned. So I figured metal detecting would be a good way to spend my extra time looking for gold. I purchased a 4500 from Rob and I'm really excited to use it. Maybe if there are any guys from Northern California or Nevada who'd like to get together and detect (if you don't mind a newbie tagging along) I'd love to join you. ~Jesse
