  1. Yep, that is why being retired is the best! No listening to your boss or anyone's bs. Or anyone telling you what to do. Retired life is like always being on vacation. Every day is the same but can be different as you choose. Oops almost forgot (senior moment) I just use my ex-wife's knee pads. She stopped using them ever since she went pro. Now these knee pads are used in a different way. Jimmy
  2. I'm looking to buy a recirculating sluice that I could run my material in the garage. Also to use outdoors as a mini highbanker, battery operated of course. Dragging my large, tall Keene A52 combo that I converted to battery operation some 11 years ago, is just to big, cumbersome and doesn't fit in my vehicle. Plus I am not looking to rupture my old double hernia operation from 1985. Anyways, these small folding recirculating power sluices aka highbankers seem that they could fit the bill. Does anyone have any recommendations on a certain brand or type. I already have an extra 12 volt battery, 12 volt battery charger, plus an electrical outlet built into my truck. Thanks, Jimmy now in Preskitt
  3. We are relocating and closing on a house in Prescott, AZ. in less then two weeks. On a gentle down slope at the rear of the property within the property lines is a wash. Has some boulders (hopefully gold bearing) but the current owner had stated once years ago he spotted some bees while down there. I was wondering, other then the usual close intrusion to a bees nest, has there been any studies or facts that metal detector frequencies annoy bees. While then bees would consider the detectorist as an intruder. Any thoughts?
  4. I wouldn't be surprised there is something else in play here. When I worked under a counter-terrorism program we got paid under FEMA. When I worked in Homeland Security we got paid under US Dep't of Agriculture. With our office close by the FBI and they didn't know we were even there!!!!! Our gov't has a way of camouflaging things. There is secrecy among gov't entities. My point is, maybe it's not about fees, solar or BLM. But possibly a land grab from our military from BLM. But first getting any people, cattle off that area. Just my experienced insight.
  5. Hey guys, I reside in Colorado. There is no BofA here. But I was in Phoenix last week. Here's how I purchased raffle tickets. I contacted Rob privately beforehand. Told him an odd amount for two tickets. Then went into Wickenburg which is not far from Stanton. When you get into town turn right. There's a BofA across from Safeway supermarket, they open at 9AM. Make your deposit into that account Rob has set up for Bill. That account # is posted here somewhere. Then email Rob he will know it's you by your odd amount over $25 a raffle ticket. He will then give you your raffle number(s). If I can do it living in Colorado with no BofA you can surely take a short trip to Wickenburg. Besides you probably need food supplies anyways in Safeway. Good Luck! Jimmy
  6. Although I never met Rob or Bill I think it's a wonderful thing what Rob is doing for Bill. Like Rob I'm a cancer survivor as well. Medical bills can be overwhelming. I purchased two tickets one for Bill and one for myself. If Bill picks his ticket he can sell the GPX 5000 to still help himself further. For Rob, I will be purchasing something from his store. It's a win-win situation for all involved. My prayers and thoughts are for/with Bill.-Jimmy
  7. I have been thinking about planning a trip to Calif. in the future. Somewhere along hwy 49 between Auburn and Placerville. I know about the dredging ban there. But I have read pieces on threads stating different restrictions. Is sluicing, highbanking (with electric pumps), shovels, picks, metal detecting allowed in the area I'm considering. I don't know about everyone else, but I, for one, feel blessed that Calif. law makers are available to tell me how to live my life. Without their guidance, I might have spent my free time doing something unlawful. If this sarcasm did not get through, let me be more direct. Taking away your choice with prospecting restrictions is not the final event. Self-important, arrogant bullies will always have something else they don't like about the way you live. Next, it will be the size of your soda or what vehicle you can drive into "their" city or state. But fear not, they will always leave you the choice of going to jail if you don't adhere to their laws.
  8. Getting back to Tom's question. About differences between Lode and Placer claims. Perhaps one viewpoint is that Lode is hard rock in place including veins. In line to interpertations by the Blm. Placer generally speaking is in relation to sand and gravel with sometimes water. Plus their other dimension differences and extracting methods.
