  3. Yup, Joe great obsevations that have been made before regarding the purging of mapping info, nothing new and it is very real. However, what is being offered by Lonny is nothing different that has been done by ourselves. Any customer questions from our end, email or phone conversation, are nothing different than you described, so where does the point lay? We have a "Beta" version of the same given to "someone" in 2008 (for testing only) of what Lonny has now put together for sale and offering to the public. We don't hide behind a screen name(s). The same Beta mentioned was "decided" to NOT be relaesed on our part due to "confusion" that the public could use it in a manner NOT benificial to themselves. I'm Not trying to say our Beta design is beyond reproach but it was flawed, but one must think....."why didn't we release it for public consumption" as Lonny has. That side of the equasion is based based on trust and nothing more..... Good luck Lonny, I do do hope that continued research inspires the end to your means! Gary BTW, Ah, Joe..... six posts, great advertising! (just my 2cents)
  4. Jim, We'll be there for this 2010 LV GPAA show as well as a vendor. Saturday is always busy for us, however if you would like to chat on Friday evening let me know, hell thats not ment to discourage anyone from stopping by and saying 'how the heck are ya'. See you there! Gary BTW, that invitation goes out to all!
  5. AZNuggetBob, I also had trouble getting to the govenors blog, had to use a different browser. Charlie made comments to what is being planned about midway down in the comments area, I'll see if I can C and P it here. Right now my reply window is acting up again with all the reply icons straddling the middle of the window..... Charlie Connell said... Governor Brewer's Centennial Commission has proposed the establishment of a Centennial Museum. The proposal suggests the museum be placed in the building that currently houses the Arizona Mining & Mineral Museum (AMMM). In other words, the AMMM would close. This proposal will impact the education of Arizona school children as well as residents of Arizona on the value of minerals and mining in our everyday lives. Listed below my concerns and an alternative proposal: The outside mining displays do not exist on the Centennial museum plans. Designer Richard Gallagher, stated the outside displays would be relocated and the building be returned to it original state. The logistics of moving a 35 foot head frame, a hoist house with a 17,400 pound hoist, an operable 1890’s stamp mill is time consuming and costly. This will take months to properly remove this equipment at a cost of many tens of thousands of dollars. I was involved with the original move of the headframe from Bisbee to Phoenix and the project cost was estimated at $60,000 and took over a year to relocate the Bisbee copper mining artifact. Is this in their budget? These components were not designed to be moved and there could be serious damage incurred if they are moved in a hasty manner. Moving the artifacts and painting over the haul truck mural on the north wall of the museum is an attempt to destroy, not save, Arizona’s Copper Mining History. The inside mineral displays do not exist on the Centennial museum plans. The mineral displays in the museum educate over 25,000 students annually from Arizona’s schools that visit the museum from Maricopa County about the uses of minerals. There would only be a small portion of our present “copper” minerals on display at any given time. The cost would be extensive to package and relocate the rest of the 3,100 minerals on display. The services of the Friends of the Arizona Mining & Mineral Museum (FAMMM) would no longer exist. The Outreach Program is funded by FAMMM. This program conducts sessions at schools outside Maricopa County that cannot afford to travel to the museum. This traveling educational program is one of the few ways children can be educated on the importance of minerals in our everyday lives. My Alternative Proposal: Place the Arizona Centennial Museum on the state fairground. There are several buildings that could be renovated at a cost less than the logistics associated with the present project. The fairgrounds already display many of the 5 C’s including cattle and agriculture annually. I have been a volunteer at the Arizona Mining & Mineral Museum for over 17 years and have over 20,000 hours of volunteer activities at the museum. I am the founder and Chairman of the Board for the Friends of the Arizona Mining & Mineral Museum (FAMMM) for the last 7 years. This 501 ©(3) organization is dedicated to supporting the museum to make it a world class forum. We have had support from many community organizations that donated their material and time and mining companies including Freeport Copper & Gold, MINTEC, and in the past Phelps Dodge. Charlie Connell I hope this works and gets posted to the forum! Gary
  6. Yup, happening here as well for the past two days. Gary
  7. Rob, Still can't PM anyone.....or reply using quoted words with the PM function. What kind of a monster did Invision create? BTW, I was only able to get this far using the google browser?!! Gary
  8. Hey Leroy, could you do the same for me as you did with Frosty regarding the KMZ placemark I grew up in a neighborhood just south of Denver and traveled to and from Morrison on many ocassions. A friend of mine at the time had a 40 acre family ranch not far from town. Would be appreciated. Gary
  9. Steve, What I find a bit off the wall and amazing in this buying craze of metal detectors, from those without or having a lack of knowledge of the mining laws, claims filings info, geological formations which Reno Chris and others have pointed out in the various mining publications e.g. ICMJ and such materials as authored by Jim Straight! This really blows my mind, why would anyone buy a metal detector in the first place, before asking questions e.g. about physical "knocked down claim markers" etc. For petes sake, what happened to research where minerals where found beforehand and under what conditions as I mention with Chris and Jim? It almost apperars that we're in for a rash of intrusions on the mineral rights held by claim owners today. Some might say here "nice sagway" Gary, but I'm not blind to the idea of buying a car before I've learned how to drive it! This just seems to be a bit nuts! Gary
  10. All I could do was laugh my rear off on that "report".....what a frickin Joke. Thanks Bob! You know I really do wonder how many out there believe this, gosh when was it written! Gary
  11. Hi Jen, Not that I wouldn't put this past the robber barons, but I found much of the info as posted in the initial "boondocks" thread noted as BACKROUND to be 'copy and paste' from the popular science article without proper credit to same. I guess the sources for the "boondocks" thread were multiple publications combined together to make one interesting read due to the lack of reporting or for that matter investigation. I can only speculate as to the timing of Obamas trip to China.....but, the thought of "keeping their lips sealed" came to mind if this was true, because a number of things could occur. 1) Chinas "real" gold holdings/reserves would be immediatly be depleted/devalued and 2) The strangle-hold they currently have on the US dollar and our debt would only serve to weaken this condition in the favor of a devalued dollar and 3) gold prices would sky-rocket to the moon. If that should happen, the gig is up for the Fed, (unless we held more gold in unknown places) our economy and theirs as well, because they would loose in exports of traded goods to our country in dollars. Remember if a portion of the gold in their vaults is fake and came from US sources, would not their efforts to do further quality testing, finding negitive results, serve to bring down and destroy the entire "world baking system", central banks and the IMF! I look at this as a cat-and-mouse game of who can blackmail who better. On a side note, was money transfered on the initial sale of the fake bars, I don't think so! Anyone buying that kind of "change" would be a fool to pay upfront and take delivery without conformation to begin with as to the quality of the purchase. This is cat-and-mouse, which may even include the raid in NY and the missing official. Someone is trying to cover their a$$ets. Gary
  12. Quite a nice "nest egg" you have there.....also a good looking sluice, who made or makes it? Gary
  13. Hey Grubstake, Any chance of getting a more in focus close-up of that one? Have you taken a closer look at it with a 10x loop? Boy that sample sure looks like some "sweet stuff"! BTW, how much detecting time do you think you have left before the snow really starts flying? Gary
  14. The Night Owl Express, or would that be Expresso' is On-Line OK Jen, when do we get the "Rest of the Story" Gary
