  1. Hello All, Was able to get out the last day of 2023 to see what I could end the year with. A partner and I discovered some coarse tailing piles that I believe have been overlooked for years. There were no digs, scraps or anything in them. One of the first targets was a nugget right on top for me. This was a great way to start the day knowing there were a lot of piles to scan still. Like all tailing piles, we both dug the typical iron rubbish, maybe a bullet fragment or two and some nuggets. We didn't discover anything super larger, the biggest nugget was around 2 Dwts, most of them smaller in size. We both were using the Minelab GPZ 7000's, one with a stock 14x13" Searchcoil and I had the Nugget Finder 12" Z Search on mine. The weather was good and we scored some gold! Here are the nuggets I scored on the final trip of 2023 - 5 Dwts total (Quarter ounce of gold). P.S. Sorry for the poor picture quality, this is what happens when you purchase a $1200 cell phone and drop it weeks after the purchase and break the camera lens .... Rob
  2. Hello All, Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and an upcoming New Year - 2023. It's been hard to break out prior to Christmas, but managed to sneak out the day after for a hunt. I spent the entire day with the Minelab GPZ 7000 and the NF 12" Round Searchcoil and ended up with a nice handful of gold (small patch or pocket found). Not shown are the 100+ trash targets ranging from boot tacks, wire, can fragments, bullet casing, lead bullets and more. Glory to the Great Lord for allowing me to finish the season with a nice pocket of gold and hopes of a great 2023 prospecting/metal detecting season. 71.70 Dwts of nuggets or 3.58 Troy ounces of gold. Rob
  3. Hello All, I have a lot of video footage and pictures from earlier this season, mostly around the Summer time. I'm just getting some free time to get some of the stuff uploaded and posted. I figured this would be a nice nugget to post and see right before the Thanksgiving weekend. This piece was found under about a foot of hardpack, caliche gravels. This particular gold nuggets, as seen in the video was wedged in a bedrock crack/crevice. Just makes you think how many years (hundreds, thousands?) this piece has been hiding there. The nugget was difficult to remove from hand tools as we didn't want to damage the piece not knowing the actual size or shape. We ended up using a Hammer Drill with a chisel bit to extract the gold nugget. The nugget ended up weighing right at 1/4 ounce solid. We also found another smaller one, about 1/2 Gram in the same crack prior to this piece. I dug the first smaller one out, but knew it was way too loud of a signal on the GPZ 7000 for it to be that small nugget. Low and behold, we scanned over the spot again and the signal was pretty much just as load as originally. Tool used were the Minelab GPZ 7000, Minelab GPX 6000, Garrett AT Pinpointer, hand tools, picks and the Hammer Drill. Here is a short video below of the gold nugget find and extraction. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks God we are able to enjoy such a wonderful hobby searching for gold. P.S. If you enjoy these video, Subscribe to our Nuggethunting channel to follow us. Thanks for watching. Any comments are appreciated.
  4. Hey Guys, Well its that time of year where most of the US Prospectors are searching for gold, in the Southwest at least. I managed to get out this weekend with some friends, just roaming around some old stomping grounds in hopes to turn up a few bits missed years prior. I was toggling between my GPZ 7000 with the NF 12" coil and my GPX 6000 with the 11" coil. My other two friends were using the GPZ 7000's with the stock 14x13" coils. Later in the day I can across some old piles left from prior mining and got a softer sounding signal and decided to investigate. My friends both had a few dinks now, so I was behind on the gold count. There's a lot of left behind rubbish in this area due to prior mining, hardrock and placering. I figured it was just another deep nail or something, but as I got down deeper, the target was actually on bedrock below the pile. I ended up scratching everything away from the bedrock and pinpointed the target in a crevice or depression (seen in picture below). Low and behold, it was a nice gold nugget, 4.6 Dwt's, just shy of 1/4 Troy Ounce. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least, didn't expect it. I thought this would be good time to see if my Minelab GPX 6000 would hear this target with the stock 11" coil on it. I walked back to my truck, got the GPX 6000 and hiked back to the target location. I figured this would be a crude, but interesting test as there is so much debate on depth and how now many believe the GPX 6000 is better. I fired the GPX 6000, balanced and make sure the EMI was good, then scanned over the target area with the nugget back in it's original location. I couldn't hear a peep of a signal, which honestly is what I figured. I didn't expect to find it, or hear it with the GPX 6000. I played around with a few settings and even had my buddies come over to check it out. They both scanned their stock coils (GPZ 7000 with 14x13") over it, both heard the target, but it was still faint (not a super obvious signal). This is one reason it's hard for me to put down the GPZ 7000, I have found many nuggets at depth, but deal with the heavy, bulky unit. I thought about going back and trying the 14" DD to see what it would have done, but for the most part, I never use the 14" DD, so it wouldn't have really proved anything to me, as I don't use it. It would have been interesting to see what the 17" coil would have done, but I didn't have it with me. I would think the 17" would have heard it. I'm swinging the GPZ 7000 with the NF 12" Round coil 90% of the time, the GPX 6000 about 10% of the time. There are some bedrock gullies I have revisited in years, so I'm looking forward to spending more time there with the 6000 and 11" Mono coil. I think I also might be able to pack the GPX 6000 into a few canyons as I wasn't easily able to do that with the GPZ 7000. Here are a few pictures below. I didn't have a tape measure, but Doc's pick is 22" handle length. I'm thinking between 18-20 inches was the true detection depth, but faint signal for sure.
  5. Hello All, Here we are again, a partner and I placering a dry creek bed. The process of placering is to remove all the overburden (rocks, gravel) and process or work the paypayer/bedrock. We are doing that by using rakes, shovels, crevice tools and then using metal detectors to scan the paylayer and bedrock for gold nuggets. This process is back breaking hard work, but can be very rewarding in the right locations. As you can see in this video, we hit a nice crevice that had a hidden beauty in it, a 3/4 ounce gold nugget. The nugget was wedged below the hardpack gravels and wedged in a bedrock crack. In this video we were using the Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector, Garrett AT Pinpointer and several hand tools, including "Two Toes" nice crevice tool he shipped me. We have gotten a ton of use from this tool, very good on narrow bedrock cracks and holds up well. Contact Gary for more information, or visit his "Two Toes Youtube Channel. Thanks Gary!! Remember, the true treasure is the ability to get outdoors and enjoy your friendship with others that also enjoy this hobby. God Bless, Rob
  6. Hello Everyone, Well, if you own a Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector, I would highly suggest the new 12" Round Nugget Finder Z Searchcoil designed for the GPZ 7000. This new, lightweight coil will surely increase your small gold finds better than the stock 14x13 GPZ coil. About 3 months ago I had the opportunity to originally test this coil before the release here in the US. My first day out I scored about a dozen smaller gold nuggets on patches I hit hard prior with the GPX series and GPZ 7000 with standard searchcoil. I ended up letting a good friend take the coil off my hand at the time as he had many places to prove this new coil out on. Over the course of about a month or so, he rounded over nearly a 100 gold nuggets off old patches, well paying for the new investment - searchcoil. I now received in a small batch of coil from Nugget Finder, most are already taken, but have just a few left in stock. That being said, I managed to get back out yesterday over a few patches and rounded up this gold nuggets. I'm super impressed with the lightweight and hyper-sensitivity to small gold and specimens. Wishing you all successful nuggetshooting! Rob
  7. Hello All, Had a great time testing the new Nugget Finder "Z Search" Searchcoil today on a wash I haven't hunted in some time. This small coil for the GPZ 7000 is much lighter, more sensitive and easier to pinpoint small targets with. I was super impressed with the new coil, wish I had a few dozen in stock. I also love the fact you don't have to modify anything, just mount and plug in like a stock GPZ coil. I have already had 3 customers burn up their $8000 GPZ 7000 by making some wiring mistakes on adapters for the X coils. In my opinion, I don't recommend anyone voiding a warranty or sacrificing a $8000 metal detector if you make a mistake. This coil is 100% approved by Minelab. Pictured below are nuggets found today with the new coil here in Arizona. The coil comes with a lower shaft, mounting hardware and skidplate.
  8. Hello Everyone, Well haven't been out too much, too busy. What do they say, "Burning the Candle on both ends ...." I did manage to stumble onto a nice target down about a foot below a bedrock ledge. When I cleaned out the ledge, there was a small crack at the bottom edge where I found this beautiful 1/4 ounce gold nugget. The ground was still moist, so the nugget stood out plain as day! I was using the Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector with the stock 14x13 searchcoil. I also dug plenty of iron rubbish and lead fragments during the day. Hope you all are finding a nugget or two out there. Would love to see and hear your stories. Rob
  9. Hello All, Here in this video a partner and I have been working (placer mining) a dry creek bed for gold nuggets. This process including digging down, raking and metal detecting the paylayer and bedrock for detectable gold nuggets. We were using the Minelab Gold Monster 1000, Minelab GPZ 7000 & Garrett AT Pinpointer along with various hand tools for digging. We dug a lot of old rubbish, not shown in the videos to preserve time and boredom This is part 1 of the entire video, the second part will be up soon. If you like our video, please Subscribe, Like and follow us on Youtube.
  10. Hey Guys, It's been awhile since I done a video, so here you go. I have a bunch more I need to upload, it just take time ..... The nugget actually weighted almost 4 Dwt's, just shy of 1/4 ounce. It was found with the Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector.
  11. Hello All, This weekend three customers (Grandfather, Father and Son) from California came over to get field instructions on their new metal detectors. They purchased the Minelab GPZ 7000 and Gold Monster 1000. We spent the entire day doing instructions, metal detecting for nuggets and a lot of hiking and exploring around. The weather and company was great! We were to get both detectors over a gold nuggets before the day ended. The GPZ 7000 found a nice 1-2 Grammer under an old tree that was growing out from the wash bottom and the Gold Monster 1000 nailed a smaller, probably 1 Gram piece in a bedrock crack. Right now before Christmas is the perfect time to purchase any of these two detectors. You not only get my free bundle package, but Minelab is offer the free $102 battery pack for the Gold Monster 1000 and the $1500 19" Searchcoil for the GPZ 7000. We would love you earn your business and get any of you up and searching for gold nuggets! P.S. Larry (Son), shown in the left on the first picture has two Youtube channels. 12. Hello All, Well I was able to get out for a few hours with my Daughter. We dug a bunch of rubbish with the Minelab Gold Monster and GPZ 7000. Towards the end of the day, I finally scored a very nice 1/3 ounce gold nugget. It weighed in at 7.8 Dwt's. I was pretty excited since it's been months since I have really been out metal detecting. Wishing you all a success hunt. Rob

  14. Hey Guys, Here is part 2 of working this old placer area here in Arizona. Man, it was warm out there, high humidity and high temps. If you enjoy the videos, please subscribe to our channel, click that LIKE button and right that BELL button.
  15. Hello All, Here is an old video I found back around 2014-15. I was using the Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector, working a small ravine where I found many ounces of gold throughout the prior years. This was one ravine or wash where I always brought the next best detector to give it a whirl. For at least 10 years, I have been able to return back to this spot and find a few pieces deeper that were missed. It's a hard spot to work at least with larger coils, as the ravine or wash is loaded with large cobbles. This particular day using the GPZ 7000, I managed only a few targets, but this one happen to be gold. It was a faint whisper type target under a large cobble. I managed to remove the cobble and this is where the video pretty much starts. The nugget weighed right at 1/2 ounce and was probably 18-20 inches deep. The ravine or wash needs to be handstacked and then detected. There is no question, there is probably several ounces of larger nuggets still hiding at depth. I have dozens of older videos I haven't uploaded to Youtube. It's just a matter of time uploading these darn things. Hope you enjoyed. It's out there and "maybe even where you find it!"
  16. Hello All, I found this piece earlier this Summer season. Wanted to make sure I cleaned out the area pretty good before someone got word of the area. This piece was found at almost 3 foot deep. Took well over an hour to dig out. Found with a Minelab GPZ 7000 metal detector.
  17. Hello All, Not too long ago Peg purchased a Minelab GPZ 7000 from us. She scored this nice 8.6 Gram nugget with the GPZ not long after the purchase. This is what Peg had to say after the discovery - Thanks for the business Peg. Wishing you many more nuggets under the new GPZ 7000 searchcoil.
  18. Many of you have seen this excerpt from the GPZ brochure. Now you can read the rest of the story. http://www.detectorprospector.com/forum/topic/742-my-eureka-moment-the-rest-of-the-story/
