  6. We'll i finally got to join the 1oz+ club!! My buddy Dave and i headed to Gold Basin for a half day trip. We hit our usualy spot and split up. I headed to a wash that i found a 5.4 gram piece a couple of weeks ago. I didnt hit the whole wash, so i figured id start where i left off. A bit later, i get a nice signal by a bush in the middle of the wash. It turned out to an 8 gram specie with some dark host rock mixed in. 10 feet away in the bank of the wash i get another screeming signal. This was the flat nugget, also about 8 g. I radioed Dave to tell him the good news. The next couple of hours there was nothing except a couple of meteors. I decided to hit the bottom end of that same wash on my way back to the truck. After a bit i get a nice signal in the wash, it was the .8g flat piece. The wash had widened out, and the bedrock was deeper, so i wasnt detecting to slow wgen i got a slight sound. I thought it was just ground noise because i was running the GPZ hot at 18 sensitivity and high yield and normal ground. I did a scrape and the sound was still there. I took about 6 inches off with the pick and the sound seemed more distinct. I fugured it wasnt mineralization but rather trash because the dirt was silt, not hard pack. I kep widening and deepening the hole and when i got to over a foot it was screeming. I was figuring tin can ir something. After about 6 more digs and around 2ft deep. I get it out of the hold. I did reach bedrock so i was feeling hopeful. It turned out to be a 1.41 (OZ) nugget and a pretty one at that, with a bit of quartz. I finally joined the club. I feel like i deserve a patch or something lol. I radioed Dave to tell him the good news, and he was eccited for me. (He was already a member pf the club) a bit under 2 oz for the day. Thanks for the great deal on the GPZ Rob. Its paid for itself now!!! I do need to order a replacement coil cover from you. Chris. I tried to add more pictures, not enough space.
  7. Yo ! Hendo, just checking in on you. Chris
  8. Now that the picture space has been freed up, here are us my (getting closer to my first ounce) nugget 3/4 oz, lol Chris Hopefully this is the year!!!
  9. Hi Rob, thanks to the GPZ I bought from you I've gotten much closer to finding my first 1oz nugget. A couple of weeks ago I found a .64 oz nugget, and a legit 3/4 oz nugget. I thought I had finally broken that barrier, till I got home and weighed them. I detect in an area not known for producing large gold. Guess I need to take your advice and head to those areas.
  10. Thanks, Gary. Yes I'm sure there is more gold in the wash. It it pretty narrow with most of the nuggets being on the upstream end. When things dry out I was planning on drywashing, to see how it pans out. Chris
  11. HI Gary, they are Nevada nuggets. I had actually been through that wash with my ATX stock and 8 in coil. I had even been through it with my GMT. They were just too deep I guess. The GPZ is amazing. We traced the nuggets all the way up the wash and then up one of the banks. Not really experienced in tracing source but will give it a try. Chris
  12. Hello all, I was able to purchase a GPZ from Rob a few weeks ago, and have had success cleaning out some old patches. My first run into took my girlfriend and her daughters out with me. I hit was wash that I had struck out with my old detector. I was able to find a few nuggets for 3.5 grams in about 45 minutes, then the girls got cold and wanted to head home lol oh well. The next day was to be a more serious day detecting. I met up with a buddy and went right back to that wash. I started pulling one nugget out after the other. Radioed Dave and he was striking out in another wash so I told him to start at the top of my was and hopefully he'd get his GPZ over some gold. I ended up with 20 pieces and Dave for 9. My best day behind a detector. 13.6 grams. I have since went back to that wash and got 2.5 grams each on 2 separate days slowing down, hitting the sides and moving rocks. I may even try to find the source. Thanks Rob for great customer service, on a great piece of equipment. Now I need to get the 19IN coil. Lol Can't wait to get back out this weekend.
  13. Hi, I have a used good condition Garrett ATX with the stock, 8 inch, and deep seeker coils. The 2 flaws are no headphones, and one of the stoppers on the telescoping stock coil doesn't work. So you have to be careful when sliding open. Other than that, works great. I have found plenty of gold with it. Looking for $1900 or GPZ 19 in coil. Chris
