danhughes
We really can't blame Ermal Fraze, I guess. I'm sure he had no idea what his invention would do to the treasure hunting fraternity. It started innocently enough. In the summer of 1959, Ermal was at a picnic, and he'd forgotten his church key. He had to use a sharp part of his car's grill to open his beer can!Well, Ermal ran a tool and die shop, and after the picnic he went home and began working on a design for a self-opening beer can.And three years later, Iron City Beer introduced the world's first pulltab.Listen to the whole sordid story.
