jjbond
I hate to swear, but HOLY CHRIST!!!!!!!! That shot really sets it home how much of a monster that is... thanks for sharing and glad to hear your dad's doing better. I lost both my brother and my mom in 2017, it sucks, glad you're not in a similar situation, hope to see him out there swinging coil soon. Uncle Ron
On 2/6/2018 at 7:07 PM, nuggethunting said: Hey Alchemist and Friends, I have to agree, the GPZ 7000 sure does well on a much wider range of gold and orientation. Since the GPZ 7000, I have found that I'm not only finding that sluggy or solid flat gold deeper, but now very crystalline gold and specimen gold that the GPX series and prior struggled with or couldn't hear. As for the nugget and value ..... a vendor from the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show that got word of the nugget offer over $25,000 for the nugget unseen. This offer was pretty much double and they never seen or touched the piece. I have no doubt, the value could go 3x to the right Arizona collector that wanted a big gold nugget from the historical gold district we found it in. That being said, the nugget is no longer in our hands! $25,000...Hmmm, I think somebody here stated that 2X !!!
Admin nuggethunting Posted March 25, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted March 25, 2018 Hey All, Ya, its a beast of a nugget and very dense. That is one nice thing about this area where it was found, the gold is extremely dense compared to other spots. A friend of mine found a nugget similar in size about 10 years ago that was 7.75 ounces. The purity and density of the nugget can make a huge difference when it comes to weight. Walker
That last picture does a lot more justice. It is a “toad”! Funny thing, someone showed me that picture the other day and said they had found it. Ha ha! That has happened to me before too! Thanks for the picture Rob.
