Fake nuggets on e-bay

Recommended Posts

Trying to get as many people as possible to report this guy to e-bay, over 400 big nuggets (fakes) I asked him about using escrow or if someone could look at a couple of them and was told no and not to bid on them. Won't send better pictures either and everything comes due within 30 hours of each other. On Finders form they all say fake. What say you???

Allen in MT,

Would these jerks have bigger penalties to pay if they were nailed for selling fake AU on many sites (at once)instead of just one?Maybe let thier heads get fat while they expand thier profits and amount of websites(many small one piece sales or one small one per wbsite)THEN bust'em?Or would it make any difference? What says you's?

E-Bay is in it for the money, if a person gets stuck it's not their problem, only way to remedy this is find a fake and report it and why you think its a fake and get others to report it also.

Howdy All...

In an earlier post/thread about a week ago or so ago regarding buying clean

nuggets, I mentioned it was best to buy "dirty (as found) nuggets." (They are

harder to fake, but still can be done.)

Whenever gold prices go up, such as in the past year this... "fakes" become

more prevalent. But usually the "nugget" contains actual gold, so all is not

lost unless it is a plated copper nugget. But the SG ("heft") is a giveaway.

Sorry that this is still happening... but without sounding "a know it all"...

if Rob will just post both page one and especially page 267 of the

Seventh Edition of Vol 3 (Jim Straights book) this could be helpful to those of

you who are buying gold.

There are regulars on this forum who occasionally sell some of their finds.

To know the general location of where the gold was found and the finder

adds interest to buying the gold.
