Hey Digger

You remember are old friend Terry? We plan to meet one time at Rye Patch. I made it to Vegas and had car problems. Terry made it and did some detecting while it was snowing. Lasted I heard from him he was raking the gold in off the beachesof Hawaii. With all the problems he had I think he went on to better hunting grounds by now. Maybe we can meet up at Rye Patch when it get a little warmer. I'm looking to make a trip in a few months. Did you know Havasu Bill?

Really guys, I was kidding. I'm crazy but not stupid...or is it the other way around? Anyway, I tried that once out there. No mud, the ground was frozen solid. When you dig, the ground just comes up in big slabs. Didn't find anything either, but Reno Jim did.

Kim, yes, Terry and I still see each other now and then. He gave up prospecting and took to the golden beaches of Hawaii. He's doing pretty well too. I remember him talking about a trip out there and detecting in the snow by himself. I think after that trip he pretty much gave up nugget hunting. But he was the first one of our group brave enough to purchase the first SD and try out there on one of our trips. Without knowing a thing about the machine, he found a nice 5 dwt. nugget within the first half hour we were there. Several more followed with none for us Goldmaster users. Actually, it was about a month before that trip that I was there and met Havasu Bill. He and Little Bill had been out there all summer working with the original SD 2000 and the 18" loops. They literally cleaned up on gold. Had the whole place to themselves. There were some 4 foot deep holes in some of the washes with a tin can laying next to them. I don't remember how many pounds of gold they found but he poured out about 8 ozs into a gold pan and said "This is about all I have left. Sold the rest." But that alone was enough to convince me to research this "new" machine a little more.

Chris, I would like to meet up with you at some point this spring, maybe at Rye Patch, maybe up in the Sierras. I'm hoping we can trade some information. Did you ever get a bike or quad?
