2dach
'Possibly a hollowpoint that hit a rock? The base (just above the ring) shows what could be a slight compression that may have partially been caused by the initial blast from the shell. AZNuggetBob
The more I look at it , it looks like it has been pounded down almost eliminating the extraction groove?
Digger Bob
The more I look at it , it looks like it has been pounded down almost eliminating the extraction groove? It is copper rather than brass if that helps. The one picture shows a Henry shell beside it for comparison.
AZNuggetBob
A friend mine a few years ago found a rifle casing with a few DWT of gold in but it had a cork of wood wrapped with a small piece of linen stuffed in the end. This almost seems too heavy for its size? Hmmm? I suspect its larger than is looks in the photo. I have found many Bit shut as I call it but so far not lucky enough to find one with gold only dirt.
