explorer1
I have been thinking about planning a trip to Calif. in the future. Somewhere along hwy 49 between Auburn and Placerville.I know about the dredging ban there. But I have read pieces on threads stating different restrictions. Is sluicing, highbanking (with electric pumps), shovels, picks, metal detecting allowed in the area I'm considering.I don't know about everyone else, but I, for one, feel blessed that Calif. law makers are available to tell me how to live my life. Without their guidance, I might have spent my free time doing something unlawful. If this sarcasm did not get through, let me be more direct.Taking away your choice with prospecting restrictions is not the final event. Self-important, arrogant bullies will always have something else they don't like about the way you live. Next, it will be the size of your soda or what vehicle you can drive into "their" city or state. But fear not, they will always leave you the choice of going to jail if you don't adhere to their laws.
