Wingnutter
Hi there I'm fairly new at this and this is really my first post asking a question. I would really like to do this but I feel like I may be handicapped at it because both of my knees have been replaced with titaum replacements. Does anyone know how having replacement metal knees will affect the metal detectors and is there one that is better to use? Thanks
Border Boy
Wingnutter,My Grandfather swings a Minelab 5k just fine, he has double full knee metal. The only time he has a problem is with larger coils, mostly he sticks to a NF 17x11 mono with a extended lower shaft.Hope this helps,Justin. Wingnutter
Thanks for the answer Border Boy. I was hoping that I would be able to enjoy this hobby. Now if I can just get to where I can afford a nice detector I can get into the swing of things.
frank c
X2 on what Justin says, my long passed away mentor have metal knees and used both the VLF and PI detectors no problem. Just keep that coil out in front of you.
pinkmoose
Now that is an interesting thing. I always been worried about metal in my boots. I got it pretty good. Good luck to you.
