Ugbomb510
Went with my girl for Valentines day beach stroll here in Humboldt. Went to a place I surf fished and noticed black sands. Showed my girl what I was looking for and with my trusty pan we set out. She pointed me out to some interesting black streaks and I scooped it up in my little sniper pan. Walked over to a pool and panned a full pan out. Expectations low I still take my time shaking it out. Final cleanup... What do you know! Bout 6 SMALL pieces. Still bigger than I expected! Took it home and hit it with the jeweler's loop..... GOLD! WE GOT GOLD IN DIM DERE BEACHES! Cant wait to work over a plan for a serious day at the beach. Left early cause it was breezy. Girls ears were hurtin. Hahahah ITS THERE! Ugs
Uncle Ron
Yep, there's lots of fine gold on the beaches all up above Brookings ... just so much black sand it's hard to gather and separate ... Cheers, Unc

Border Boy
that's cool Ugs! Wonder what the rules are in NorCal for dredging around the beach? Would they call it an active waterway? finding a few colors in you're first pan of sand is good! I would be into it if it would be legal
Ugbomb510
I think I am going to take the black mat sluice I made at work and hit up a beach further up that has a creek. Just run bucket after bucket. lol. Why not? heheh I think I could bring some stuff home to play with.
