Reg Posted May 18, 2006 Report Share Posted May 18, 2006 Hi Garimpo,I have been in communications with a friend who lives in Curitiba Brazil and he was asking about gold hunting and sites that may help him learn more about what to look for. Anyway, I was wondering if there was more information about gold in his general area as well as any other information that may be of value to him. He is totally new to detecting or prospecting for that matter. By chance, do you have any more specific information you could share pertaining to his general area? I realize it is quite a distance from your location to where he is located, but I was hoping that you may have studied a lot about gold producing areas in Brazil. Curitiba is about 1,000 miles South of me and since it gets cold there I don't wonder in that direction. Actually there is no more info available to me than there is to you. For example, when I first got here I was hunting for topo maps and learned that the military here controls them. So off I went and visited this states military HQ. in the capitol and damn near got arrested. It seems they think that any body that is interested in maps is a terrorist. I also can't find anything on the net concerning gold here. All the info. that I have is from word of mouth. Usually greatly exaggerated. I haven't heard anything about the Curitiba area. From what I understand all the minerals are located further North. Your friend could probably find more gold on the beaches there but then he would have to hire body guards. The way it works on the popular beaches is if you hire body guards your hiring the bandits that will rob you if you don't hire them. Wish I could be of more help. He built a pulse unit called the Hammerhead and had some problems with it.
