montana
Grubstake. There was a super cell thunderstorm that went through there . It was only a small stock water dam that broke but it was enough to send a wall of water down Supai canyon. That storm headed south from there and hit my place at 2:00 A.M. with an incredible thunder and light show. There was no sleeping through that one. We got an inch of rain in half an hour . I watched the storm as it developed on the doppler weather map over lake Mead near Vegas . It passed through one good gold area on the way toward Wickenburg where it just evaporated . Stanton got a pretty good shot of rain from it just before it petered out. Supai Village gets flooded like that pretty often. There is no road to the village . The only way in is on foot or by mule. Many tourists hike in there during the summer and these tourists are the main financial support for the Hualapai indian tribe. They have no casinos. ---Bob
