1Boeing737
Does any one know if the pushes are saturated with water/mud? I'm leaving for PHX today to hit tomorrows push opening , and it looks like the local weather radar depicts lots of rain over the Congress area. I didn't know wheather to bring my GPX, or my catfish pole. Mark
Bandana Don
Mark I am not a member of 24K but my home is in Peeples Valley (5 miles North of yarnell). If it rained down Rich Hill way as much and as hard as it did in Peeples valley I'll bet ya a buck there will be lots of mud, etc.Don
wonderer
In the past I've been up to the pushes after a long soaking rain....every step you take you gained 5 lbs........mud sticks to your boots, to the pick, your hands, your metal detector......... Wear older cloths and take a extra set to change into...........take some wipes to clean equipment...put some mats in your vehicle to protect the floor....take extra towels to lay on the seats to protect them..........take a steel scraper to scrape the mud off of things (boots & equipment).............Hope it isn't that bad push day..........may you fill your poke with gold........Former 24K member - - - - - wonderer
1Boeing737
Thanks,I will give it a try. That clay will definetly be a mess. Hopefully the rewards will make up the difference for the mess I'll be digging in. Thanx for the info.Mark
Goldman
I hope peolpe saw weather and saw there ws a rock slide closing Hwy 89 coming out of Prescott! if you were coming that way. I am surprised there was no posts or e-mail giving status of push, which is probably under water and very muddy conditions, I hope no one runs into problems! Dutchman
I am glad it is wet and muddy. Most of the fair weather members won't show, and the detector cross talk will be less. The fewer the better. I suspect some big ones will show up this time since conditions will be more challenging. The dozer will have an easier time ripping up the big boulders in the wet soft ground.
