Barnich Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Hello, I am just getting to the world of nugget hunting and would like to try out the Rye Patch. I have been to the BLM site mapper and I am trying to figure where it is ok to hunt at the Rye Patch. As near as I can figure Sections 17, 16 and 21 do not have any claims on them, but I am not sure. I also do not know about private ownership. I know the even numbered sections belong to the BLM, but I am not sure about the odd numbered sections status, any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to stepp on any bodys toes or claims. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank's PaulB
Bunk Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Paul, I have only been to RP one time but you might want to look into some clubs in the area. These folks might be able to help.http://nevadanuggethunters.myfreeforum.org/index.phpBunk
Barnich Posted August 10, 2010 Author Report Posted August 10, 2010 Thank you, I have looked into some clubs and will probably join one. I was thinking of going to Rye Patch to break the ice. I just don't want to get off on the wrong foot with anyone.
El Dorado Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 PaulA much closer place to Sac would be the old hydraulic pit behind the dump in Foresthill. put this into Google Earth and it will show you where I mean 38 59.749 N120 50.831 WnO TOES TO STEP ON AT ALL IN THIS SPOT!
