Aquilauno
Hello to everyone. I have just bought a GPX 4000 from a friend of mine and would like to use it for relics and coins in very hot grounds. Any advice about better settings to reach the goal without diggin little tiny pieces of iron? Thank You. Ale
goldtimer
Use a DD coil, with the iron reject on. The GPX 4000 is not ideal for coins... Although I use mine on the beach a lot, no discriminating LOL BUT I have dug quite a lot of coins now, and I can usually tell by the volume from the target, and the area that it covers, whether it is a coin or not... It goes very deep, I have dug coins at about a metre deep in sands.THe conly detector I have used is the 4000, so this is speculation, but I'd say that you would be best only using it in areas that are either historical ( Like the people in UK hunting for Roman coins) or have a history of producing some good finds, so that you can use your detector to it's advantage - going deep Cheers
