  1. Thanks Rob. Talked to Chris this afternoon and he is certainly excited about what you and I discussed! Can you tell me what weekends you have available in November or mid December?
  2. Hello everyone, a very good friend of mine has a complete Minelab SD2100 (the green one) set up that he is looking to get rid of, but has no clue what they are worth. So I figured I would ask the experts here what their thoughts are! He recently bought a GPZ7000 and wants to either sell his SD2100 or trade it for a new GM1000. He has all stock gear with it and an extra battery and everything functions perfectly. What are y'alls thoughts? Any and all suggestions/comments welcome. Thank you inadvance.
  3. Not much to look at, but this is my haul from my last few trips to Gold Basin. Haven't bothered weighing any of it, but I love the color...lol. The two pieces at 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions are quartz specimens with very small gold in them. Nothing big yet, but going to keep trying and digging! Still trying to figure out the 4500 settings. Grabbed a used Coiltek Goldstalker 14x9 Blitz coil and found the smallest guy in the pic with it. He is about half the size of a grain of rice. I know, I should have used a coin or something for size comparison...lol.
  4. Sorry to hear that, Rob. Hopefully you'll be able to get back out there and swing soon. I try to go out as much as I can, but the nearest goldfield to me is like 110 miles. L.ol.
  5. How about this....I would like to trade this detector for a new set of Black Widow headphones and a new Minelab pinpointer.
  6. Up for sale is a used, but in good working condition, Minelab Eureka Gold detector. The sale includes the detector, a used stock coil with no skid plate, A BRAND NEW IN THE PLASTIC stock coil with skid plate, a used stock 12V AA Battery Pack, A BRAND NEW IN THE PLASTIC stock 12V AA Battery Pack, Koss headphones, camo control box cover, and a Minelab carry bag. The unit does NOT have the rechargeable battery pack. The two holding tabs broke off of it, and since I'm selling the unit Idecided to just add another new AA Battery Pack. If interested call or text me at 909-730-9220. I am located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Asking for $375 or best offer. Also willing to trade for a new, or like new, NuggetFinder 14x9 Evo Coil with skid plate or gold nuggets equaling value.
  7. Well, I received my GPX4500 last week and met up with DolanDave and his awesome dad here in Southern California for a hunt on Saturday morning. We were in the vicinity of Randsburg in what "looked" like very good gold-bearing ground. This is also an area where a lot of gold has been found in the past. Dave and his dad got there Friday and spent a lot of the day detecting the area before I met up with them. So, I get a text from Dave Friday evening that says the following: "Went out at randsburg today, really disappointed, couldn't walk 5 feet without hitting bullet, this place is a war zone" I felt bad for him because I know exactly how he felt. There are literally MILLIONS of bullets littering this desert out here. I mean, you can drive 7 miles off the paved road into the middle of nowhere on a mountaintop (like we did on Saturday) and dig. 22 shells/projectiles as much as a foot deep. I climbed to the top of a hill that had to be 100 foot tall, got a signal, dug down about 8", and found a staple (the kind for papers). I recall Dave telling me that in Arizona and Nevada it's not near as bad, and that this would be his last trip out here because of it. As if the ungodly amounts of bullets wasn't bad enough, we were digging up nuts, bolts, spark plugs, lead bird-shot, and lots of other garbage. As bad as I felt for what they were going through, and even myself on Saturday, it kind of gave me a little bit of validation for all of my frustration over the years. I know a lot of folks say that you have to just keep going and dig everything, but I wonder if those people have ever literally dug over 100+ bullets EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY GO OUT? It is definitely hard to keep the motivation there when you are running into bullets and other garbage literally every 3 to 5 feet. All in all, I had a great time and I'm looking forward to hunting with these two gentleman again in the future.
  8. Rob, I absolutely DO know that, and I am so very grateful for all that you have done for me throughout the years. I've told you before and I'll keep telling you...I am truly glad to be called your friend! That being said, I have a lot of faith in the Eureka Gold. It certainly is a heck of a detector, and the only reason I am letting it go is because I already have the Gold Monster. With the GPX purchase from you, along with the GM, I don't really think I need a 3rd detector. I believe you 100% when you say that the stock coils are good coils, and I will surely keep them. But the downfall of them is that they are round. That is not necessarily a bad thing, I just prefer the elliptical shape... makes pinpointing easier for me. I'm looking forward to having a good training day with you. It will probably be after August when I can take my vacation from work.
  9. I have a Minelab Eureka Gold detector that I am trying to get rid of and would like some opinions on whether what I am asking for is reasonable. My Eureka comes with the detector, the Koss headphones, two 12V battery packs (one used and one new in plastic), two stock 10x5 coils (one used and one new in plastic), a Minelab carry bag, and a neoprene camo control box cover. I am asking for $500 or best offer OR trade for either a Gold Screamer Power Pack System for a GPX or a NuggetFinder Evo 14x9 coil with skid plate for a GPX. Another thing I'm contemplating is doing a straight across trade for a gold nugget dollar-for-dollar value. So, what would be a fair size nugget to trade for? I would really prefer a solid nugget instead of a specimen, but if I did consider a specimen I would like it to have enough gold value to match my asking price. Please share you thoughts or ideas.
  10. Thank you so much for all the replies. They helped me a lot. The 4500 has been ordered and according to the shipper, and FedEx, it should be here Tuesday. Since I didn't do a whole lot of research before ordering, I didn't know anything about a 10x5 commander coil or I would have ordered that instead of the Sadie. I am going to take some good advice and spend a long time learning the machine....something I didn't have the patience to do when I owned my first 2 GPX5000 machines! I'm really excited about getting out with this machine and hopefully, with enough practice and research, I can finally get a coil over some gold again. I have listed the Eureka Gold on this and another forum but have had no interest, so unfortunately I guess I'll wind up with 3 detectors after all...lol.
  11. The consensus on both of the forums I frequent is that I should keep the GM1000, so I just listed the Eureka on both forums. I was really leaning towards the 14x9. Seemed the just the right size. Thanks for all the input.

  13. I currently own a Minelab Gold Monster 1000 and a Minelab Eureka Gold. I have arranged a purchase of a new GPX4500 that I will have in the next couple of weeks. O.k., so here is my conundrum! I am contemplating selling my two VLF detectors and picking up both a NuggetFinder Sadie coil and a NuggetFinder Evo Coil (either the 12x8 or the 14x9). I would kind of like to narrow things down to just one detector, but will one detector do everything? My thought is that I could use the Sadie coil first and cover a grid looking for the small dinks, then switch to the bigger coil and re-search for the bigger and deeper targets. I would like to hear some opinions from you guys! Should I sell the two VLF's and just use the GPX? Sell just the Eureka and keep the GM1000 and the GPX? Or keep all three of them?
  14. Rob, My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...especially your father. I know exactly what you are going through. Take this time to let your dad know how much you love him and how thankful you are to have him as your father. My mother passed away a few months ago. Even though we knew it was coming, it was still a difficult pill to swallow. BUT....I was able to tell her before she passed that I loved her and thanked her for being there for me throughout my life. We ended that day with a long, very strong hug and some tears....and that was the last day I saw her alive. Now, I am dealing with a problem of my own. After a couple of years of medical issues, and not going to the doctors office, my doctor is sending me to be screened for Prostate Cancer due to the symptoms I am showing. Gotta do all the lab work tomorrow and wait for the results.
