  1. Well lets play the numbers game.... 44? 67? How about 76+10=86 last January? 86 is a kid if you are a redwood tree -: Happy Belated Birthday Rob. You too Grubstake (PS Grubstake if you wakeup w/o hurting you know you passed away in the night and are in Detector Heaven... )
  2. Ray great photos... I do not know how to access my face book to reply to your Birthday so I do it here,Happy Birthday Ray.... jim
  3. Well I was able to attend Pomona from 10 to 1:15 on Saturday. Bill Southern and Kevin Hogland combined their individual half-hour programs from 10:30 to 11:30 and together they smoothly captivated the those in attendance, WOW it was truly A+. Before their program I had time to drop off a box of books to John Jones of JOBE and another package of assorted Acton Manuals to the PLP Booth.... Then from 11:30 to 1:15 it was rush-rush to see most of the booths such as ''the gold lady," Valley Prospectors(which I'm a member of), and various GPAA chapters (At the Highland chapter there was a tray of butterscotch balls that I could not resist!). Then it was nearly time to leave and we stopped off at the ICMJ booth to banter with Chris Ralph and his dad. Unfortunately his program was at 2:00. After a quick pit-stop we were out the door by 1:15 and Mike returned me to my home and rushed out to work at 2:00 PM as a aerospace engineer for Boeing... jim
  4. Well Mike Lucas is my ride and we will be there on Saturday... Hope all of you who have visited this thread and are going have a Great Time.... jim
  5. come on; don't be shy as the Pomona show is popular with the local folks and if they attend, they will updated with local information on various facets of information that lead to being more successful in whatever subjects that you are either interested in or wishing to become your specialty... The speakers are quite selection, such as notable author and successful White's dealer, James McCullouch; or associate editor Chris Ralph and Bill Southern of Nugget Hunter's forum, and about 10 others. Plus there will dealers who only have a booth at local shows such as Pomona
  6. Well what can I say; but here I still be at 85. Father Time may no longer on my side but I slog on as best I can with my eyes front and forward ... Good O'l Dan Taylor. He is a true friend... Bless him.... jim
  7. Tom... I could not say it better, so I second your post... But unfortunately my late wife did not beat her cancer.
  8. Howdy Raimond, I see you are also located in southern California. The Pomona show being more local to us will be more revelant. I understand there will be about a dozen speakers at the show. One will be Chris Ralph, the Associate Editor of the ICMJ and another will be Bill Southern. Sorry I do not have a list of the others, and their schedule. However as at the last Pomona show I was able to attend pushing my wheel chair like it was a wheeled walker on Saturday.
  9. Rob... I'm still able to post on this on your forum... Hope I do not get locked out... jim
  10. Fairplex, CA 1101 W. McKinley Avenue Pomona, CA 91768 I plan on going. Anyone else planning to go?

  12. Hey all... Volume 3, any edition contains snipets and bits of information that I have found by accidentally thinking out of the established box as I'm Dysexic which is both good and bad as dysexics see the world differntly. My early life was rocky as I failed the first grade as I was left handed and prone to write the alphabet letters backwards. and simple first grade sentences backwards from right to left. Thank goodness for spellchex otherwise my spelling would be a mess... However over the years I have learned to cope with the usual orthodoxy and metaphors and have managed to over- come the negative parts...more later as It takes time for me to write and I do not wish top be timed out... jim
  13. :)Jen... Have a Merry old fashioned Christmas; the Birthday of Our Lord Jesus And you are not messing with me as I have two daughters, four grown granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. Plus throughout the text I mention the lady-folks in a positive way as they multitask and make great detectorists (as you also do...) God Bless...jim
  14. Gary you and Allan find silver, gold, and diamonds detectng at the beach.... jim
  15. Jen... My Wish for you is go over the next HILL and find a yellow SPILL that gives you THRILL and then to be home with family all in good CHEER. (well anyway I tried to become a poet as my are like Longfellows) God Bless All on the Birthday of Christ our Lord....jim
  16. Rob to cut to the quick, it is the November 2015 Eighth Edition, The March 2004 Seventh Edition was getting long in tooth, even though it was still selling pretty good as a reference and as it was comb and laid flat was a great coffee table book. How in the heck could I make such a jump without adding the needed pages of new Appendix?!. I only added 15 pages of new text, Many are in color, It took months of get it done. There are still a few typos, but they are as far as I know minor... I cannot take any credit for the revision other than to make it a ,com as hundreds of others, such as you (Rob), Chris and Bill have been involved in its evolution since it began as "Follow the Drywashers" over 30 years ago....Also it was both Dan Taylor and Penny who had the computer savvy to get it done
  17. Jen hope he was using a Minelab so as to not miss anything and I was totally a believer that he was associated with a construction companyuntil Grubstake posted and as usual he GOTCHA me; but I will survive Merry Christmas to All... jim
  18. Rob.. just to let you know that the eighth edition is available from Joe at Plateau Supply in St. Louis. jim
  19. Rob... The Eighth edition of Volume 3 is now being printed by Joe at Plateau Company in St Louis. It has a new front cover and additional pages in color. There are photos in color of Rob holding both both 5-ounce nuggets he found in Central Arizona using the Minelab GPX5000. Over the years Rob has helped me with his vast knowledge regarding Minelabs within both the seventh and now eighth editions and I hope he orders and carries the eighth in his on line store as he has earlier editions... jim
