  1. Very nice. I need to meet back up with you one of these days. Dave
  2. This is what I read; "Bundy has in fact paid fees to Clark County, Nevada in an arrangement pre-dating the BLM. The BLM arrived much later, changed the details of the setup without consulting with Bundy — or any other rancher — and then began systematically driving out cattle and ranchers. Bundy refused to pay BLM, especially after they demanded he reduce his heard’s head count down to a level that would not sustain his ranch. Bundy OWNS the water and forage rights to this land. He paid for these rights. He built fences, established water ways, and constructed roads with his own money, with the approval of Nevada and BLM. When BLM started using his fees to run him off the land and harassing him, he ceased paying." This is what agencies do in other areas. They make policy that contradicts law and/or previous agreements. They do this to miners all the time; they try to make them believe that their policy is equal to law change.
  3. Have there been any hints yet as to what coil options there will be or if other coils will be compatible?
  4. The property is only a couple miles east of Hwy 80 at Mill City
  5. What do some of you experienced Nevada hunters know about the Dun Glen area. I can get on some private property in that area. It is directly east from Mill City.
  6. The last two times out I found that my Coiltek Blitz produced noise when the cable was touched or when the coil touched anything like a branch. Because of all of the junk at the last location I changed to my 11" Minelab DD and it did not have the same problem. I read that this could be due to not having the cable connector tight enough so I had it pretty snug. Any thoughts?
  7. I stopped in and got the lay of the land but only had a couple hours to hunt with no luck. But I was running in normal and fine gold. i will be back in about a week with a couple days to work after I pass through Joshua Tree CA and the Grand Canyon. Any spots I should check out on the way from the Grand Canyon to Rye Patch? Oh, and I was thinking about a bigger coil. thoughts on which one; Coiltek Blitz or a larger elliptical 18X12 or so (unless round would be better)
  8. Trav, where in Northern California are you. Your collection looks about like mine so far. I have had my detector for about 3 weeks. I can't believe some of the places I have found junk. For me getting to know the right kind of places to hunt is the hard part. I live in the Chico area but have gone up to Trinity county (where I grew up) and NE of here. We have even spent a day in Nevada and are planning to run to Nevada again next week. Good luck. David
  9. For you GPX 5000 operators in Rye Patch; what settings are you using in Rye Patch, mainly wondering about ground timing. Also, what kind of canned food does Crystal john like best, I have heard to take some supplies to trade for info.
  10. Thanks Doc, that is helpful. I have been in the Carson City area south of hwy 50.
  11. Rye Patch was my planned next stop. Be there Monday and Tuesday; can't wait. My copy of "Placer Gold Deposits of Nevada" came in the mail today along with several other books. Thanks David
  12. Here is a question for you experienced nugget hunters. I am doing some detecting in NV but most of the locations I can get to are lode mines. Will I have success there or do I need to find a placer deposit location? Thanks, David.
