Admin nuggethunting Posted October 26, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted October 26, 2014 Hey Guys, I could be way off base here, but some guys called this week and mentioned their thoughts on the recent big gold. Not long after those calls I remember a few guys posting large CA gold nuggets that they were finding with coin/relic detectors (gold nuggets 1-5 ounces). I took a second look at the recent, big gold nugget and the ground/grass around it and compared to this video. Give me your thoughts, but it's a good observation I think. Those pictures, compare to this video's dirt and vegetation when the camera looses some light. Keep in mind, the video is filmed at night. and this video at about 10 minutes - If others got word these guys were finding nuggets, others are now there hunting ..... Ok, just being bored .... Relichunter2
Your not off base Rob, I suppose it is plausible. But ground like that is common in the Motherlode areas...been diggin dirt like that all summer. But just not as lucky as that individual....who ever it is, congrats to them. Ohh ..read last night that it sold to a person in the Bay area....undisclosed amount, but according to Kagin, all were very , very happy
Reno Chris
Rob - those plants are widespread in the Sierra Nevada at lower elevations - they go for many hundreds of miles. Similar dirt from the weathering of metamorphic rocks is also wide spread.I could use the same kind of arguments to say that all the gold in Arizona is found in one area, because those desert plants are so common and many Arizona placers look so similar (how much AZ gold is formed in the Yavapai schist or equivalent pre-cambrian schist in other parts of AZ? )
azblackbird
Ron and Mark? Dont think so....Be cool as hell if they did find it though. That's who first popped into my mind as they've been hot on the big ones lately and haven't posted much lately on some of the forums. Like Rob inferred, seems the nuggets in Ron and Marks videos are matches to the "big one", but then again, I've seen photos of some huge nuggets (100oz+) pulled out of the CA gold fields, and they also look similar. Admin nuggethunting Posted October 27, 2014 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 27, 2014 Hey Guys, I'm not saying that is who found it and agree the vegetation and dirt can be the same for hundreds of miles. I was hoping it might have been those guys. Could you imagine coin/relic hunting and finding a lifetime, trophy type nugget!!
deathray
Someone asked Mark directly on f.b. if that was him,and his answer was I wish.

Also found our first patch. (30-40 smaller ones)Some idiot started to follow us and jumped in. Gold Fever is a crazy illness!! Hence our silence!Ron SwensonRon (CA)If that was me I would be shouting and bragging my butt off!! LOL
AZNuggetBob
Guys after looking at the photos Ive seen on that so called big nugget from Calif. was not found in the same area as Ron's,wrong soil, I magnified the photos, wrong color of gold, as a matter of fact Im not going to bet that big nugget is from California. But Im confident Ron's are.
