Admin nuggethunting Posted April 26, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted April 26, 2015 Hello All, Here are some good videos on deep nuggets with the Minelab GPZ 7000 if anyone has time to watch them. I guess it finds deep gold. Interesting Find at Depth with Nenad 3.8 Ounce Gold Nugget Found

AZNuggetBob
I agree Nugget108 I was lookin forward to a trophy nugget in that first vid too. . nothin wrong with that 3.8 ouncer. What I have noticed is its hard to define he size of the target like the older Minelab PI's.ya keep thinkin its a smaller target and it just keeps getting deeper.the older minelabs I could swing over a target and give you an idea how large it was and how deep?with the new Minelab GPZ 7000 it seems to narow the target down to a very small area(target window) regardless of depth.AzNuggetBob
AZNuggetBob
I have to say the complex windings on the coil have me puzzled? Ive wound my own PI coils. Its got me thinkin even though its a fairly large coil you may want to swing slow and keep your pattern very tight. AzNuggetBob
nugget108
Heck yeah. I was thinking it was going to be in the boulder size range lol. I would probably have been a little ticked off. Most of us would have had to dig that sucker by hand haha. Good thing they had the excavator.
Admin nuggethunting Posted April 27, 2015 Author Admin Report Share Posted April 27, 2015 Hey AzNuggetBob, I thought the same thing, the guy was in virgin ground and when the excavator came over I though it's going to be big one. I have dug a few of those trash targets over the years, convinced it was a nugget. Funny, a couple of weekends ago I was so convinced I found a nice one at depth with the GPZ, I pulled out the camera, called over a friend and dug the target. I was down around 1.5 feet and out popped a old piece of lead. I was so damn disappointed! My friend was amazed a piece of lead got that deep. Funny, all the other targets at depth were nuggets, right in the nearby area also. I still have the video, I might post it to show they always aren't gold nuggets!
