californiagold
HelloGot up today to an unexpected cloudy sky with a few sprinkles. Figured was a great opportunity during summer to go detecting. Went back to our recent patch to clear out some more land. Found 4 more pcs with fors gold and nokta pointer. Picked one small piece out of iron trash. 2.5 dwt for the short trip. Hope we get some more clouds again soon. Not alot you can do in the summer. Admin nuggethunting Posted June 29, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted June 29, 2015 Hey CaliforniaGold, Congrats on the new finds. I wasn't able to get out this weekend with my new ForsGold, but hopefully next weekend for a day. Going to try it in some trashy areas to see if I can snoop a nugget out. I know the nuggets are there, I have found them digging tons of iron rubbish. Some seen to believe this detector is doing well working in these type of environments. Any further suggestions on settings and such?
californiagold
I just run in boost mode sens. 80-85. You can leave iron mask at 10 and dig out the good beep signals amongst the grunts or most iron little pieces ring off at 15-19 target id or bigger iron a little higher. So you can turn up iron mask to 30 to eliminate most iron. So all you would hear then is non ferrous. You should remove large iron pieces . Fors gold will overload on a larger pieces of iron. Non ferrous targets ring off above 40 Good luck
AZNuggetBob
californiagoldNice Gold, gota luv that color. I agree I havent seen a discriminator you cant over-load with trash, but I'm hoping the Fors Gold is better at handling it. less Raking too. Admin nuggethunting Posted June 29, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted June 29, 2015 Hey Guys, I haven't played with the ForsGold yet, but did mess around with my XP Deus last night. Damn, I was impressed, but not real sensitive to small gold nuggets. A Gram and up it will do well. I ran around my house, which is loaded with rubbish and cherry picked several coins, one metal button, two pieces of lead, piece of brass and a few other non-ferrous items and eliminated all rubbish. I didn't have to dig one trash target, really impressed. I'm hoping I get the same performance from the ForsGold, but better sensitivity to small gold.
