onion gold Posted March 29, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 29, 2007 Montana,I think you are partially right, it has been in a fire but most likely not a camp fire. I dug it in a tailing pile. It was encased in a hard white substance, not unlike the nuggets found in northern Nevada. The visible yellow portion was just a discoloration on the surface. At first I thought it to be lead.
