Admin nuggethunting Posted December 12, 2007 Admin Report Share Posted December 12, 2007 Hello JW, I don't have any pictures off hand, but will stop over and get the ones I have at the other house. This hard case came originally came with the GP Extreme. To break down your metal detector completely you need the 2-part upper shaft that came with the GP Extreme. The case will then hold the entire metal detector (broke down) and one 11-inch round coil. I've heard people have drove over these cases with vehicles and not damaged the metal detector inside. Not sure I would try it, but the cases are very strong! Hope this helps a bit,Rob Allison
JW.
I did some searching and found a few photos, looks like quite an operation to break it down and build it up again, but nice and compact when done!I'm going to get one of the SKB cases soon and i'll post a photo of everything in it. I'm trying to keep the machine mostly assembled, maybe take off the lower iso rod and coil and leave the rest as is. Gotta fit the backpack and coils in too...HHJW
paratrooper
My company used to haul for a case company in LA named Pelican . They must have a web site . There were cases for just about anything .
kcoulson
I have the extra large SKB case that I use for transporting rifles. It is a great case- very sturdy -I am sure that it would work ok for detectors tooKen

It works like a charm to be able to break down the detector and store it in the hard case where it is safe.I recomend the Minelab case because it is far less expensive than the Pelican Case and it needs no special work done to the inside to get things to fit properly, you just need the 2 piece upper shaft.I love my Minelab hard case.
