Admin nuggethunting Posted May 27, 2011 Admin Report Share Posted May 27, 2011 Hey Bill, There has always been a huge debate that some of the older PI's, such as the SD series get more true depth over the newer detectors such as the GPX5000. I've tried to prove this to myself and always decided to stick with the new detector. Reason being, even if the GPX5000 didn't get anymore depth, the user control, timings and much better immunity to EMI always seemed to make the difference. I think a modded SD might give the newer detectors a run for their money, but stock SD's in my opinion will not outshoot a newer PI. I'm sure others will chime in, so will be interesting to see what they have to say. All the guys that I used to know that talked so much about the SD series are now either using GP3500's or newer. Kind of makes me wonder ... Take care,Rob Allison
