Azoverland
Making a sluice box tonight... Any advise on the ripple angle. Straight up and down, with the flow or against the flow? Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info.I did mine at about a 45 deg angle. Probably best to go with the angle pointing in the direction of the water flow.
oldies1955
I did mine at about a 45 deg angle. Probably best to go with the angle pointing in the direction of the water flow.Take a look at how the production models are made. That will give you the best idea on how to make the riffles. Usually....45 Deg with a flat on the top....pointing downwards of the water flow.Tom
FlakMagnet
as has been said, the riffles should slant towards the water flow. You should be able to increase or decrease the water flow, that allows you to maximize the riffle action. The angle the riffle box is set at is also fairly important. It is surprising how small adjustments to box angle and water flow can make a big difference.I am sure some dredgers can jump in on this and add to the discussion.good luck,Flak
