barry
I am sure many of you saw the national news regarding the earthquake in Mineral Va roughly 14 miles from by home. I happened to me nugget hunting a few miles closer to the epicenter. Quite an experience. First there was a loud rumble, much like a quarry blast, then the ground began violently shaking, trees were trembling and swaying, and the rumble was louder and closer. I thought the ground would open below my feet. Being only 50 or so miles from Washington DC I looked for a mushroom cloud but nothing in sight, looked south to the nuclear power plant, nothing again. I didn't have a clue wether the impact was close by or far away and needing a change of shorts I called it a day. I did find two dinks before the excitement.
