Admin nuggethunting Posted February 27, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted February 27, 2015 Hello 1man, Well the small one is the Coiltek 10x5 Joey Mono. The larger one is the Coiltek 14-inch Round Mono. They both are labeled Mono's, so I'm assuming that is what they are. Coiltek did make DD in both of those sizes also. Hope this helps a bit. Admin nuggethunting Posted February 28, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted February 28, 2015 Hey 1manoperation, To test if they are mono's, take a small target and touch it on the edge of the coil, any side. If it detects right on the outer edge, it's a monoloop.
1manoperation
Hey 1manoperation, To test if they are mono's, take a small target and touch it on the edge of the coil, any side. If it detects right on the outer edge, it's a monoloop. I was gonna ask if I could OHM it out. I have a second big one (14) with no writing or tape on it. Thanks ,I am about to go nuts and glue some gold to a board so I can at least run it.
Admin nuggethunting Posted May 20, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 Hey 1manoperation, The ohm value of the Mono's and DD's are different, but can't remember right off hand what they should be. That is a option though. Sorry I missed this post earlier.
fredm
Plug the coil in and put the detector in cancel...a mono will be very nearly dead, except for very large targets. A dd will still give a signal with a 22 bullet when crossing the width of the coil.Their stickers never were very sticky!fred
