FlakMagnet
Hi IronMike,Just to clear things up real fast so there's not an uproar all throughthe gold detecting community (I was even starting to celebrate ).I have never...ever ...found what anyone would call "a lunker".I think you might be thinking of Pondman who I was hunting with a couple of weekends ago...he bagged a lunker for sure...In any case, let us know when you get your first lunker with your new Platypus (hint hint). All the best,Flak
IronMike
So right you are Flak, please forgive my "sometimers" condition. I just can't keep things in my head straight when I have prospecting on my mind.IronMike
montana
I gave up using tape on my open spoked coils and started using DAP tub caulking which is only part silicone and very easy to remove if needed. Its durable and holds the coil cover in place while sealing out the dust , dirt, and moisture. Grubstakes idea sounds good also. Kind of like a permanent coil cover. When it starts wearing through just touch it up with more epoxy.---Bob
IronMike
I like your idea Bob. Plenty durable and easy to remove when installing a new cover. Thanks for that.IronMike
