Rob Has the New QWIK ADJUST BUNGEE in stock!

With all the amazing advancements that Minelab has made in their detectors, there is one thing that has not improved at all.

1. The skimpy little bungee and BOW KNUCKLE set up.

2. From the 2000 through the SD2100, GP series, and now the 4000 and 4500, Minelab has provided the same system to help deal with the strain of swinging a detector all day long; a BOW Knuckle, which is a little clamp that goes on the shaft, which I don't think is even made for metal detectors at all, it's actually an accessory made to secure lines on the rails of boats. Along with this they give you a little 1/8th inch bungee cord which you have to dink around with to get the right length and then tie it off to the bow knuckle. This has several drawbacks. Once you get the bungee adjusted, it's fine as long as you are working on flat level ground. However, when you start up a ridge, and raise the coil, the bungee goes slack and you are carrying all the weight again. AND, if you change the coil, to one larger or smaller, the difference in weight means your bungee is no longer properly adjusted, it has to be retied. The result is, most people don't even use a bungee, it's too big a pain. But it's no pain at all compared to the one you feel in your back neck and shoulders, after a day of detecting without some kind of support for your detector.

3. Let's face it, it doesn't really matter what detector you use, they all get heavy after about 3 hours, and most of us are just not spring chickens anymore.

SOULTION? A HEAVY DUTY bungee with a Quik Adjust system that let's you instantaneously make bungee length adjustments on the fly.

I have been toying around with this idea for years, and making different prototypes. As you know, getting anything injection molded is not an inexpensive process. The expense for the injection molds are staggering. However, the time had come for me to make my idea come to life. So several thousands of dollars later.......

Introducing DOC's QUIK ADJUST Heavy Duty BUNGEE

Undo the wing nuts, and put the QUIK ADJUST clamp on your detector shaft, not just a Minelab, ANY DETECTOR! Loosely tighten the clamp, so you can still slide it on the rod. Hold the detector carefully by the bungee only, and move the QUIK ADJUST up or down the detector rod until you find the perfect place that balances your detector, where the detector is at about a 45 degree angle to the ground. You do not want the detector front heavy or back heavy.

Once you have identified this point, mark the shaft in some way. Remove the clamp and peal off the cover to the double sided tape, and reinstall the clamp in the place you marked, and tighten the QUIK ADJUST clamp down on the detector shaft.

You're all set. There is absolutely no metal in the Quik Adjust clamp, and it is made with fiberglass reinforced nylon, which is one of the most durable materials available for injection molding. Your detector will probably wear out before this clamp.

Now when you detect, and you are walking along and start to go up a ridge, reach down, pull the bungee out of the "V" groove in the clamp, take the slack out, and give the bungee a quick tug back into the "V" groove. Your bungee is properly adjusted to take the weight off, and you never even had to break your swing, let alone your stride. After a day of use you will find that you are readjusting your bungee unconsciously all throughout the day.

The hidden benefits of a properly supported detector, is an increase in finds. You can't be on your game when your back, neck, and shoulders are killing you. Detecting in comfort helps your concentration and insures you don't miss that faint target.

Doc's Quik Adjust bungee is available from Rob for $18, plus shipping and applicable taxes. This is one small investment, that will pay big dividends in years and years of comfortable detecting. Get one for each detector you own. If you are like me, that means you'll need about 6.

BCOT!
