Look at the color of the dirt. I thought the "Red Clay" in Oklahoma had alot of color.

Thanks for sharing the pics Chris, looking forward to more.

Thanks for the story and the photos, I didn't come across any photos earlier and was chomping at the bit, although the write up did conjure up some imagined imagery of the outback.

Gary -

Its Just the Minelab Treasure talk blog -

http://www.minelab.com/treasure-talk

There is actually a blog post there (dated Sept. 9th) showing a bit on our send off barbeque at Reeds Prospecting In Perth from the beginning of our trip.

Although I've not talked with him in a week, I think JP will be heading home today (or at least very shortly). Its a long drive across Australia, and I am sure it will be a few weeks after he arrives home before he gets the video up and posted.

Chris

A couple more photos:

Steve and I trade off detecting with the Gold Bug 2 and Gold Bug Pro;

JP digs a small nugget found with the GB2 in a gulley bed as I look on;

JP shoots some video of Steve after he found an 11 gram (7 dwt.) nugget.

Chris how did you find the Gold Bug2 & the Gold Bug Pro perform in the outback conditions in WA, was the Gold Bug Pro better in performance.

Check out the comments by me and by Steve as well on the thread on this forum titled "Gold Bug 2 Tips"
