Admin nuggethunting Posted July 28, 2012 Author Admin Report Share Posted July 28, 2012 Hello Ken, I updated the metal detector list. I have one GP Extreme that I hate to sell, but I'm asking $1,500. It's in great condition, two coils (11 and 18-inch), all stock accessories and hard carry case. Talk with you later,Rob Allison
Ken~Digs
Rob , I think those are very good prices You've been offering - better than the private guys (a guy up here wants $3200. for a 4000) so 3k for those 2 - 4500's was xlnt. Already from reading you guys around the forums (1500 good on extreme as well) when I do add to quiver ~ I'm pretty sure i want that Coil splitting feature, which i believe ya'll said started on the GPX 4000. I like the math You showed for halving the DD in inches as a Mono as well. Seems like less need to switch coils in extreme blacks or normal friendly soil, if i'm thinking Straight so far ? either way on how i eventually work one in , Your the man i'd want for an Instruction Sessions & would Compensate You 4 Your time, if so Possible. Thanks & Talk soon - Ken
Admin nuggethunting Posted July 30, 2012 Author Admin Report Share Posted July 30, 2012 Hey Ken, Great talking with you. I have a guy locally looking at the GP Extreme this week. Will keep you updated on what he does. As for the coil splitting, I believe you're talking about using DD's in Mono mode. This was a feature all the way back with the GP Extreme. There is a toggle switch on the front panel where you can toggle from DD or Mono mode. If you're using a standard DD, you can flip the switch to Mono mode and use 1/2 of the coil, which is like using a small Mono. This method is best for pinpointing, not so much for outright hunting. I would recommend a true, full sized Mono for all the benefits. The toggle switch feature is nice, but not so much for hunting in Mono mode all day in my opinion. Hope this helps,Rob Allison
