DolanDave
I have had 5.11 boots, Bates, and some other brands. Just last year I purchased the Wellco Composite Toe Hot Weather Boot, tan in color, no metal, and composite toe. These boots are GREAT !!! I haven't had a catclaw come through the bottom, they feel great wearing them out all day, they have seemed to keep my feet cooler in the hotter times of the year. I have probably put 100 miles on them hiking hills detecting, and they seem to hold up great.Dave
newriverblake
Just ordered the 5.11, I've had Altima's, Wellco's, Merreill's and Converse with the composite toe which are the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn, I hope the 5.11's last awhile and are comfortable. I just wish they made boots that didn't say China and lasted more than 6 months before the bottoms started to fall apart. Just my two centsThanks for all your help. newriverblake
I don't know if I am ready for flip flops - I went out last weekend and smashed my toe in my worn out Wellco's. My little piggy didn't get crushed in vain - I actually got a couple small nuggets.
