Glenn
i have been back in az for better than three weeks and I was doing pretty good cleaning up some of my old areas, then my detector went down and had to send it in to minelab, into week two without my machine and no way to know when I will get it back, since they moved from Vegas the customer service has suffered a bit, hopefully I will get some kind of info this week even being a short one, my hunting partner let me use his backup 2200d and I put my Joey on it to get some sensitivity. I have scored about 10 pieces with it but it is hard to change machines once you get used to one and it becomes an extension of yourself, plus I am used to more controls, but 46 nuggets at about 3/4 of an ounce isn't anything to cry about, just need my machine, I am ready to start prospecting new ground. Glenn
Yeah once you get used to a machine it is hard to hunt with anything else but on the plus side I am still hitting gold, so with that I will be out again tomorrow

wdu3164
Hi Glen.Did you send it to the Minelab West service center in Chandler Az? My 4500 had some sort of short which burned some components and nearly all the traces on the circuit board. I sent it to them and they had it nearly a month. They had to search out a good circuit board that could be rebuilt. After I got it back the signal was smooth when I turned it on and the entire time it was on unless over a target. I hunted with a couple of others there around Rich Hill and they said they had never heard one run so smooth. Not only smooth signal but it worked I found both my 1st and 2nd nugget while I was there. I had to wait but it was worth it. Hope yours gets back soon so you can keep "cleaning up".Bill
Glenn
Now that would be great. Right now I am in week two and I call them everyday and they tell me they will call me back with a status and they never do the girl told me 5 to 7 days which they have now passed and the one man I talked to was rather rude and arrogant so I am hoping they can restore my faith by at least doing a good repair because their customer service sure sucks. I as looking to buy a mine lab backup machine but I may go with a fisher now
Admin nuggethunting Posted November 26, 2014 Admin Report Share Posted November 26, 2014 Hey Glenn, Hopefully you have received better news on your detector, or better yet have it back. The days of "speedy fixes" seem to be long gone from Minelab. I remember the days when you could overnight your detector to them and they would spend 1-2 days fixing it and overnight it back. I knew some customers that got their units back within 3-4 days max.
Glenn
Well I finally did get a call back from them and it is in the works to be repaired, so I am hoping for next week, I am getting used to the 2200 and I am hitting gold with it so all is not lost.
