Admin nuggethunting Posted June 23, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted June 23, 2015 Hey Hobby, The fiberglass coils were the first version of coils by Nugget Finder. Extremely lightweight and worked great. I think at some point, Nugget Finder decided to go back to a plastic molded coil as it wasn't as brittle. This is just my observation and opinion though. You don't see many Fiberglass ones around anymore, so make sure you take care of it and you will have a lightweight DD Elliptical for life. Hope this helps a bit,
fredm
I had a fiberglass 20 inch round NF that I sold with my 5000. It is a very good coil in everyway. You do have to protect the edges and hopefully you will not swing it like a weed wacker...PC11 is a good epoxy for minor dings/chips.good luck fred
Hobby
I"v ben playing around with it and seams to be as good as the 11" round i have just a lot lighter. Put some tork on the coil and its stiff and strong but looks like you could chip it against rocks.Glad it came with a coil cover. I think 2005-2006 was the last year for the fiberglass coils not sure. It does run quiet on the GPX nice..
Mike Furness
I had one and turned around and sold it ... I think ... to Grubstakes(Gary) uncle a few years back ... it was a great coil ... I just wanted to move on to the 'Advantage super-lite' series of coils at the time. I think ... if memory serves me well ... Grubby said his uncle did pretty well with it. I know I had fun with it. Uncle Ron
I have several NF fiberglass coils, the 14" and 17" Es being my favs ... They are my go to coils most of the time, but sometimes I use the Joey mono in really tight spots ... My NF 9x5 mono was amazing until I beat it to death! ... Cheers, Unc
