AuWanderer
Great another large coil, for me at least not sure about the rest..but I am done buying the next and up and coming " new " coil without real tests. I don't mind the manufacturer doing them neither, but to see words written on an advertisment means nothing to me. Make a coil, do some extensive depth tests with multi ounce nuggets at depth. Most of us have used many of the coils ou there...smalls and bigs, ..if its new and great, prove it. This coil sounds interesting but will it get the 1- 5 ounce nugget deeper than all the others...? If it does, than it will be a succeful coil for Detech and users in the field. I hope Detech and for that matter Nuggetfinder and Coiltek are listening..For now, I am waiting for reviews on 2 coils before I make a descion to buy, one is the X-Coils form Russia...for the GPX...and the other is the Detech 18" CC coil. Don't mean to rant but dang all the coils these days are comparable to the other...one does not have much over the other brand if going head to head for a particualr size...what we need is a coil that goes deeper than the others for the biggies. Admin nuggethunting Posted September 11, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted September 11, 2019 Hey AuWanderer, I understand your position, as there are a lot of new coils out now. You have the new NF EVO's, Coiltek Elite's, Coiltek Gold Extreme coils, X-Coils for GPZ and GPX series, Detech's new coils. To be honest, even as a dealer I don't have time to test them all and report back like I would. There will always be the "latest and greatest" coil, but that don't mean that older coils will not do the job. The newer coils and technology seem to always squeak out a bit more sensitivity or depth, or come out with a new design or size to appeal to someone. Overall, it's great we at least have the options. Remember when we had no options on the GPZ or SDC .....

Uncle Ron
It's great to have all these options, but the old fiberglass coils in the hands of a skilled operator will do as well or better...Operator=90%, equipment (within reason) = 10% ... Cheers, Unc
Admin nuggethunting Posted September 21, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted September 21, 2019 Hey Uncle Ron, Remember the old NF Fiberglass coils. Man, they were super lightweight and very sensitive, but I had one crumble apart on me once I removed the first skidplate for replacement ..... Uncle Ron
Hey Rob and all...The old NF 14" E fiberglass is my favorite coil...I've found pounds with it on both my SD2100 (Old Baboo) and my 4500 ... Second fav is the old CT 17 E ... Also the NF round 14 DD is good and goes surprisingly deep... Cheers, Unc
