Well Over an Ounce of Gold

Hello All,

Just recently I received this email and picture from a friend/customer. The person owns a Minelab GPX-4000 metal detector.

Thanks for getting back with me Rob. I know you will have the best package! I wish I had bought my last 2 Minelab detectors from you. I told you on the message that I found 3 nuggets and 1 specimen yesterday and I have attached a pic of them that I just took. My coil is on the detector out in the truck. I you would like, I will take a pic for you with the gold on the coiltek coil. The specimen weighs 24+ dwt with a lot of gold showing. The nuggets are 2.4, 1.0, and .5 dwt each. The 2.4 dwt piece is leaf gold that has been pounded into a triangular shape. Pretty neat, but hard to see from the pic. I have been to this spot in the past, but never found any gold. I was using the normal mode, but I had the gain turned down to 6 and was surprised. I will be back to this spot asap.

Wishing you the best of luck out there and Thanks for sharing your finds! ;)

Hello Guys,

The finder didn't mentioned what coil he was using, but I can find out.

Not real sure if the specimen is up for sale, but I would pretty much say he is smart enough not to crush it up. That is one beautiful quartz/gold specimen.

Take care,

Rob Allison

Hello Guys,

Got an update on what was being used by the customer/friend of mine. He was using the Coiltek 14-inch Mono Searchcoil on the GPX-4000. :D What a great combination. He also mentioned he has found some beautiful specimens with the Coiltek Wallaby DD Pro.

I would agree with him, both the Coiltek 14-inch and Wallaby series are hot searchcoils. Coiltek sure makes quality products that I'm proud to own, operate and sell.

This friend is excited about getting the new GPX-4500 and trying a new Coiltek Goldstalker Lightweight Mono Searchcoil.

Thanks once again for sharing your finds and story with us. ;)
