way2cool
Hi Guys, Do these open coil designs tend to get caught in grass and bushes? I have never used one.
Admin nuggethunting Posted September 29, 2008 Admin Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 Hey Way2cool, Yes, that does happen ever so often if you're in a very brushy type terrain. However, Coiltek makes both open and solid coil covers for most of all their coils. The solid coil cover on a open type coil will elliminate anything snagging on the coil such as grass, brush or smaller boulders. Hope this helps a bit,Rob Allison
montana
Way2cool. They do hang up on brush . The bigger coils seem worse than smaller coils. My biggest coil is a solid. The light weight has a tradeoff, but I love my open coils. With my 14" round I only use the bungee cord part of the day, and never use the bungee with the 14" elip. The open coils just take a little getting used to. They are so light and maneuverable , you quickly learn how to handle them so they don't hang up so often.---Bob
