Nuggetslayer
Hello all been watching the site and thought I would post some gold that we got this Saturday. My hunting buddy's wife (Luckylundy)has a uncle that has a ostrich farm well kinda they got about 7 of them. Anyway it sets right on top of a gold mine. We have had a lot of luck in this patch finding some very nice pieces. I'm new to the Minelab world but being around detectors for a while coin shooting it was easy to pick up. The pretty nugget in the middle we call the turtle nugget and I think you will be able to see why. The total weight for the day was 30.1dwt not a bad day at all in my books. But the day wasn't over there. Lucky had hit a small jackpot a week or to a go so on the way back we hit the local indian casino and I dropped in a $100 bill couple pulls later hit and hit this on the machine. I walked away with a good days pay. Anyway here are some pictures. I have only had my minelab for less than two months (SD2200D) and Luckylundy has a GP Extreme we love these machines anyway hope you all enjoy. Get out there and help me find the rest of that gold my back it sore from digging holes! Oh and I can't take all the credit for all these nuggets as Lucky had put his 6.7dwt nugget with mine the one to the left of the turtle. My JackpotAnd here are the mean ostrich's that want to chase ya around if ya throw feed out they stay out of your way as you can tell
matt
Nuggetslayer,Way to go! Those are some sweet gold nuggets. You and LuckyLundy are definately on a roll. An ounce and a half would make anyone's day that hunts for gold nuggets with a metal detector. What is the weight of the turtle nugget? The way you are hitting the nuggets with the 2200, I would not be surprised to see a few more come out when you get a newer Minelab. Keep that patch a secret! Take care and thanks for sharing.Cheers, matt
Nuggetslayer
The turtle was 9.1dwt I think. Ya I thought I wanted a new updated detector but to be honest with you, I am doing pretty good with mine right now.
Hawkeye
Nuggetslayer I see you change forums. Robs got a nice forum here. NICE GOLD. Talk about watching your back with those birds around. Don't want to bend over to often digging with them around. How much feed to you have to carry with you. That turtle nugget would make a good pendant nugget. You know if I had it to do all over again I would have stayed with the SD2200. It was a good machine and was excellent on large deep nuggets. The ground where we hunt here in N. Cal. is not all that mineralized where the other machines do excell. Check out my PM to you.Godd hunting, Wes

LuckyLundy
NuggetSlayer and myself don't mind posting our gold pic's. What we do mind is people hunting us down in the field. Our best patch is on family land, but we have to watchout for them big birds. I have a list of names of all the cronies from the other web-site. No need playing Mr Nice Guy on Rob's web-site...I know you all are very tight knit group, and I understand your game. I just want to tell you few people this, if you detect with the man your equal to that man in our book. We don't detect gold to put food on our families table, we do it as and avid hobby. We don't like looking over our shoulders or people trying to ride our shirt-tails, so go out and find your own patches! Believe me we don't have the time to follow you around to your patches!LuckyLundy

grubstake
I wonder if them big birds have gizzards like ducks and chickens? I know some that got a good size nugget out of a goose gizzard. Grubstake
LuckyLundy
Grubsteak,Them birds will eat anything...gum wrappers, snakes you name it! I bet one of them has tasted a little nugget or two. I don't like them birds they are worse than those yard geese, and if my Wife's Uncle ever BBQ's one I'll enjoy every bite! But, they are his babies and each one does come to him when he calls their name. You stay warm, it nearly as cold up this way and it is in your town...burrr.LuckyLundy

grubstake
Not good Alan, but I could be dead by now, but I'm still swinging a detector when I can. Just too darned cold right now for anything. I'll get in touch if we come up in the spring. Grubstake
