Admin nuggethunting Posted February 28, 2010 Admin Report Share Posted February 28, 2010 Hello All, A friend of mine that lives over in Sudan said I need to watch this. He said, Rob this is why there is a huge rush for GPX-4500's. I guess when you find a big one, you have to split it with friends! He said this is nothing, you need to see what they are finding. some are finding over a hundred ounces per day. Check out this Youtube video - Take care,Rob Allison

Sean.C
I'm pretty sure just about any metal detector could find those chunks.
Admin nuggethunting Posted February 28, 2010 Author Admin Report Share Posted February 28, 2010 Hello Sean, You are very right about any detector finding those chunks. However, even though that ground looks like just sand, it's extremly mineralized from what I'm told. Some of the big nuggets are being found near the surface cause the area is so rich and virgin, but many more experienced detectorist over there are finding bigger, deeper ones. I just wrote a more advanced setting sheet for these guys to help them in the field. Just think the US was like that at one time .... probably about 300 years ago! grubstake
Boy I don't know about the US being like that 300 years ago! Lets ask someone that knows. Jim hey olo. Tail gait are you on? Your almost that old. Was the US like Sudan then? Ha! Ha! Jims going to kill me. Grubstake
Admin nuggethunting Posted March 1, 2010 Author Admin Report Share Posted March 1, 2010 Hey Grubstake, Is "Tailgate" that old already? Without a doubt, I would almost bet California had nuggets like that being discovered. Many of the best finds never got reported and were probably melted down. Sudan is a very rich State in gold and other precious minerals. Rob Allison

rexb
Out of curiosity I went to Google's translator and typed in "Sudan gold rush" and came up with السودان عن الذهب in Arabic, entered that into a Google search, and then retranslated the search results into English (again with Google). Here's the English translation version of the webpage links I came up with, some interesting bits and pieces of info. here and there (on a few of the links when you open them, you have to scroll up to the top...like the second link):http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://www.sudanradio.info/php/vb.353/showthread.php%3Ft%3D1184&ei=2meLS9P3L5DUtgOt9YyGAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CAsQ7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B0%25D9%2587%25D8%25A8%2B%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B3%25D9%2588%25D8%25AF%25D8%25A7%25D9%2586%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DGhttp://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php%3Fp%3D52305611&ei=rGmLS9HdM4GCswPgjI2GAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CCYQ7gEwBQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B3%25D9%2588%25D8%25AF%25D8%25A7%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25B9%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B0%25D9%2587%25D8%25A8%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DGhttp://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://www.bahaedu.gov.sa/vb/showthread.php%3Ft%3D3088&ei=rGmLS9HdM4GCswPgjI2GAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=9&ved=0CDYQ7gEwCA&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B3%25D9%2588%25D8%25AF%25D8%25A7%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25B9%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B0%25D9%2587%25D8%25A8%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DGhttp://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://www.sudaneconomy.com/forum/showthread.php%3Ft%3D7&ei=rGmLS9HdM4GCswPgjI2GAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=5&ved=0CCEQ7gEwBA&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B3%25D9%2588%25D8%25AF%25D8%25A7%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25B9%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B0%25D9%2587%25D8%25A8%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DGhttp://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://alweeam.com/news/news.php%3Faction%3Dshow%26id%3D9018&ei=rGmLS9HdM4GCswPgjI2GAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=7&ved=0CCsQ7gEwBg&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B3%25D9%2588%25D8%25AF%25D8%25A7%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25B9%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B0%25D9%2587%25D8%25A8%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DGhttp://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://www.aawsat.com/details.asp%3Fsection%3D54%26article%3D555982%26issueno%3D11393&ei=rGmLS9HdM4GCswPgjI2GAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=8&ved=0CDAQ7gEwBw&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B3%25D9%2588%25D8%25AF%25D8%25A7%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25B9%25D9%2586%2B%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B0%25D9%2587%25D8%25A8%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DGhttp://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&u=http://www.kulshe.com/kulshe/-18/posts/11__/92__/48072__.html&ei=2meLS9P3L5DUtgOt9YyGAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CBMQ7gEwAg&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B0%25D9%2587%25D8%25A8%2B%25D8%25A7%25D9%2584%25D8%25B3%25D9%2588%25D8%25AF%25D8%25A7%25D9%2586%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DGAnd here's the text of one translation I couldn't get to work since it only exists in cached form on google and not on the web today, it mentions the gpx4500:"Why prefer amateur search for gold in Sudan a gpx-4500Gold Rush in the Sudan is known to all Sudanese and the habit and enjoy the taste of the whole, most of them were high on a gpx 4500, produced by the Australian minelab but was known among researchers on behalf of the U.S. system perhaps because the Australian company has a branch in the United States. Minelab company, which produces the preferred device for the Sudanese amateur search for gold, surface mining is headquartered in Australia and has a branch in Ireland and another in the United States of America Working in the production of the metal detector and other products since 1985 and have many agents around the world. I have gold fever in the Sudan of a large rise in the price of the device gpx 4500, but are waiting for months to receive the agents and the company, although this was not the Australian company to increase price and they know exactly the source of very high demand for the device is Sudan. The official price of the device about 5000 U.S. dollars and reached the black market price of more than $ 30000 at the height of gold fever and dropped these days in Sudan for about $ 8000 In a survey of the site Niles with some of the returnees from the gold mining areas on the surface of what amateur prefer this device: Omar Shahin Mudesir thus: Deserts and valleys of gold by dozens of different brands of detectors for gold and the practical experiences of miners proved that there is no better than a Walji me (so shorten the name of the gpx4500) It is easy to operate and programming and also when they are in the field of research and working device Walji me it gives you audio signal tends to be correct and find a piece of gold the spectrum unlike other devices that tire owners of holes, and often do not find anything. The Mudesir there are some other devices have proven successful, such as a Teknetics t2 American researchers call for gold short b (sweep) But the rest of the organs we call them in the desert b (AP chagrin) and are not desirable for many. Speaking of vanillin spring Hassan who is an avid search for gold Walji said me can not be compared to any device is excellent and even the poets have Tghazloa which Dahab is located, Aldair Pocket device Discover the best Yahoo Albitvi of Hebei O Lord of mankind, I hope Beibu Tnguibi And cherished me a cell exceeding Trtaibi Qbakbp famous poem by the poet Nazar Siraj Ahmed al-Haj. Thus, when the Sudanese people Mangily things are unanimous in favor of certain brands, such as a GSM mobiles in Altaiota or in cars and an old milk Kani and foremost amateur and now the search for gold surface and that confuses a lot with the traditional manual search, which relies on traditional tools for the drilling of deep wells may be in addition to what followed by the operations of grinding stones and the use of materials such as purification of mercury to extract gold ore. Admin nuggethunting Posted March 8, 2010 Author Admin Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 Hey Guys, It is a shame to see them cut up large gold nuggets that can yeild more than their weight if sold to the right collector. However, keep in mind, nuggets are only worth what someone gives you for them. I hear all the time this nugget is worth 2-3 times the price .... well it is when someone gives you the money, but until then it's just another piece of precious metal. I'm sure many of those larger nuggets are being sold for 50-75 of their spot value. I have some pictures on the way from a friend, but not sure what they consist of yet. Talk with you later,Rob Allison
kamikaze
It's no wonder they are paying such inflated prices for md's.... It must be a sin to butcher a nugget like that. And the gold buyers are probably taking advantage of them, buying low and selling high... Watching some of the linked videos, it makes me wonder how solid they are looking at the way they are carrying it with one hand.

Amg
I think the're cutting that nugget in parts so as to sell it to "Gold Traders" which I think they take advantage of them. That said the government knows all thisit's all they care about is their sum that must be paid for them (the Authorites) to let any prospector work in the area or provide a "License" for your Metal Detector. That scene could not have been happening if they sell it to a collector, but that's another case.
