  1. I had posted this on Steve H. forum and I think I need to share it here. We all know all detectors have a learning curve even the most simple ones. This has to do with nugget detectors only. Here you are out nugget detecting and just detected a gold nugget. This is where the learning curve comes in and it will take you a while to get this down. You have gone back over the nugget several times. Now you put the coil down on top of the nugget. I've got to tell you again This is where the Learning Curve comes in. You know the weight of the coil before and now gives you the weight of the nugget as you lift the coil. Now if you get one you can't lift the coil out of the hole you need to call me. My number is BS5-5555 Chuck

  2. Greetings from the soggy Southern Motherlode of California! Not a new member, but been away (or lurking) for a long, LONG time. Now almost ready to hit the hills running once we dry out some. Picked up a used GPX 5000, and have been ordering some ramdom stuff from Rob lately. Including tonight, hopefully everything I'll need. Not new to Minelab PIs though, but the 5000 is quite an upgrade from my old 3500. Started many years ago with a 2100. Boy, those were the days! Looking forward to posting up some finds, as they come. Good gold and best wishes to all. Jerry

  3. Hey AuWanderer, Thanks. I'm trying to get a few more along with some videos I was promised. The moment I get them, they gave me permission to post them. I heard of a 17 pounder, so I'm hoping I can get a picture of that one. They were not specific if the piece was a specimen or solid gold nugget. I guess either way it's one hell of a piece!

  4. Good luck to you Jerry. There is still good gold out there to be found. Get back into all your old spots if you can find them and hit them with the 5000. Have fun, and enjoy the hunt. Tom H.
