Tortuga
So I guess they buried a real 2 ounce nugget just for him to find?
Admin nuggethunting Posted February 18, 2016 Author Admin Report Share Posted February 18, 2016 Hey Tortua, No, they are both painted pieces. They are not real nuggets. The entire deal is a prank, funny to an extent, but the finder really thinks he has some lunkers. P.S. Anytime you want to play that prank on me with a solid, real 2 ouncers I won't mind! Old Tom
I donno bout that Rob. I've seen some friends lost, guns drawn, but also some funny situations in the past. I'd rather not be lifted up and then brought down to earth unless you let me keep the swag. All depends just who you are playing the joke on, some can't take it. Admin nuggethunting Posted February 19, 2016 Author Admin Report Share Posted February 19, 2016 Hey Old Tom, Believe it or not, my cousin and I played this trick on his Father (my Uncle) many years ago when he first started swinging. It was funny at first, he went nuts, but after that he wasn't happy when he realized it wasn't real gold .....
Tortuga
Holy crap that's funny. Must have been lead or something for it to get a signal and for the weight to be right.
Old Tom
I remember the time when Young Tom and I were dredging and he threw up a three and a quarter hunk of shiny gold to me out of a six foot hole in the creek. I accused him of playing the eternal joke on me as we were really not doing well at all. It took me quite a while to finally realize that it was really real. The excitement came on very slow that time because I didn't believe it at first. Bob Rose, Tom's Father-in-law used to play that one in the sluice box with partners and got some real negative reactions. Old Tom
