Gold detector at night

I have found that the flashlight reflects gold fairly well.  A green laser is great because gold will actually reflect the beam and you can then pick it.

Hey Dell,

  How much gold is actually just on top of the surface out there?  I guess it's possible, but not sure it's as easy as it sounds.

I hunt a lot at night... and I have found very few moon bakers.  Unfortunately, I still need to carry the detector with me, to detect the gold, and swat the bugs away from my headlamp.

I found a real light weight mesh hood I put on at night.  Still get bugs but a great sense of security knowing they won’t be landing on me.
