Jonathan Porter Posted May 24, 2008 Report Share Posted May 24, 2008 G'day all, been a few comments on various forums world wide about an Oscillation problem with the GPX-4500, so thought I would post a video clip from our new DVD (available soon ) to Youtube showing what it sounds like. Best way to avoid the problem is to run the Volume Limit on 10 and the Target Volume on 12 if using the Minelab Booster or 8 if using an external booster. It happened today and the detector was running very smooth. Later in the day the audio doubled, so I'm thinking the booster came on ... Any suggestions? For this to happen intermittently suggests maybe the jack is not fully in and is causing the booster to activate. What headhones are they and do they have a stereo plug and is the plug original? I'm using the DetectorPro Black Widow Headphones, but can't remember if they are mono or stereo. I believe they have a switch that can change them back in forth and now I'm wondering if I accident flipped the swith and it powered on ..... I guess I will do some experimenting later today. I sent the detector back for service to Minelab about 10 months ago but they could not correct it. I have not experienced it with the new 4500 .. yet.
