dutch john
Howdy Grubstake and Sandtrap...As you know a 14-pounder nugget was found most likely in in the BensonGulch area in the fall of 1977. This started a electronic gold rushto the El Paso range within the Mohave desert which is a part of theBasin and Range Provence. Since then there has been sporatic findsof other "Nice" nuggets being found on the slope and wash within a quartermile of where Tye is believed to have found the nugget.According to Tye it was recovered at a depth of 22-inches...Rememberthis was back in 1977. Admin nuggethunting Posted May 26, 2010 Admin Report Share Posted May 26, 2010 Hey Jim, Was this 14 pound piece a solid gold nugget or specimen? Couldn't imagine digging such a nugget, would probably think it was a huge piece of trash. Do you know what happened to this nuggets (sold, melted, passed down)? Dreaming of nuggets ...
