DolanDave
I dont know if anyone posted this before, but I just came across it, this guy in California found a 9 pound nugget on his land 10 feet down with a metal detector, then another 10 ouncer, then another 8 ouncer, I wonder if he owns the mineral rights ??? If bull sh-- was money I'd be rich.Chuck AndersThe flaw in his story is that he claimed to find the nugget 10 feet down with a standard metal detector (& therefore standard coil). He heard the beep bud didn't stop digging until he got to the nugget ... at 10 FEET! If there's a detector out there that goes 10 feet down, let me know about it. Ridge Runner
Well if it goes down 10 ft.I don't want it.The reason is that I don't have any friends that come near 10 ft.tall that I could hold onto their feet to let them down in the hole to get the nugget out. Looks like I'm shot out of the saddle again. Chuck Anders

The way I have heard the story is that they were digging with a backhoe and then using a metal detector, it much easier for the detector to pick up a 10' deep target that way. Dakota Slim
Look at the colors of the rocks surrounding that nugget. They are a good indicator of what you folks in the Mother Lode should be looking for.
